Carmelo Blandino

About us

Born to Sicilian parents in Tübingen, Germany, and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Carmelo Blandino studied art and design at the city’s local colleges and began a successful career as a freelance illustrator. In 2002, Carmelo shifted his focus to fine art, and today his paintings are widely known for their immediacy and their sensual expressions of colour, movement, and shape. His work is exhibited in New York, Palm Beach, Atlanta, Naples, Stockholm, Hong Kong, Mykonos, St, Tropez, Vancouver, Toronto and his beloved Montreal. He conducts workshops in Florida and New York, and taught drawing for many years at Dawson College, focusing on the interrelations between nature, beauty, and the origins of humanity. His latest works display the range and variety of the artist’s palette, with their vibrant colours and charged movement, and reflect a recognition of beauty as the most significant marker in the evolution of human consciousness. See more of Carmelo’s work at

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

After having just completed my RYT 200 I have been inspired to further my yoga journey and my own personal journey inward. I have fallen in love with yoga and how it has changed my life and I just want to continue to explore so I can share this beautiful gift with as many as possible. Jessica

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
