About us

I’m in the business of personal elevation and empowered living.  Power yoga, energetic healing and application of some straight-up, time-proven common sense is how.  At the heart of my work is personal responsibility.

Growth requires effort.  This defines power yoga, but progress isn’t measured in handstands or bendy-ness.  Rather by your self-awareness, your resiliency….your strength, stamina and flexibility as much mentally as physically.  This is the basis of our practice at Omaha Power Yoga in Omaha, Nebraska.

I believe we’re always practicing.  We practice parenting, being a boss, a friend, a sibling.  We practice being human.

We can sure benefit from knowing how we’re practicing so we can shift as needed for maximum benefit.

If you desire change, your thoughts & actions have to change.  My role is to empower you to be your own facilitator of change.

My beautiful 8 year old daughter, Zoa, is my biggest reason for my personal continued study and growth.  My best method for teaching her is to live better myself.  My practice on my mat & in my daily life has been heavily influenced by Bryan Kest, Rudy Mettia, Jules Mitchell, Dan Nevins, Deborah Adele, David H Wagner, Nick Hansinger & Kisma Orbovich.  I’ve noticed a common denominator among my greatest teachers – they won’t answer my questions!  They encourage me to question, to experiment and discover my own answers.  I promise to pass on what I learn in the same powerful method.

I look forward to meeting you, learning your why, and serving you in any way I’m able!

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

My last retreat at SMC was so inspiring and so relaxing. But i'd love to have more time there to spend at the Stupa, visit the Kami shrine, and generally interact with the beautiful enlightened society happening on that entire land. Brett

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
