About us

With over 60 years in the spiritual path Elder Black Elk has devoted his life to Medicine, Music and Nature. He has been initiated in different traditions in South America and has facilitated numerous experiences around the world, helping people to heal physically, mentally, energetically and spiritually.

Trained and initiated by Beautiful Painted Arrow Medicine Man from Pueblo Nations of New Mexico and the Plains Tribes of Southern Colorado, also in 1994 he was initiated in the Peruvian Amazon Jungle by Master Shaman Don Agustin Revis Vasques. Elder Black Elk has worked intensively with the Brazilian communities of the Santo Daime and Umbanda and has extensive experience and training as a Psychotherapist and Naturopath all this combined with his extensive studies in Chinise Medicne has lead him to work in psychic healing groups and individually with patients telephoning to know what had happened to them, forged a desire to develop the sight to “see” into a body – a desire to see the person as a totality of physical, emotional and spiritual reality. Black Elk learned to “see” into a person and to know when and how an imbalance began and how it persists. Through many years of Past Life Therapy and work as a psychotherapist, he has helped hundreds of people to recover their paths and the freedom of their thoughts.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

My last retreat at SMC was so inspiring and so relaxing. But i'd love to have more time there to spend at the Stupa, visit the Kami shrine, and generally interact with the beautiful enlightened society happening on that entire land. Brett

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
