The exploration and experience of life has always fueled Lindsay’s fire. The natural world and all life upon it has been fascinating, educating and nourishing her since the day she was born. There has never been a time in which she has not been able to find solace and guidance in the warm embrace of Mother Nature; even in the darkest, loneliest, most painful of hours. The “Real” world however brought her anxiety and suffocation as the pressures to conform to unhealthy and unproductive behaviors and ideals such as materialism and fundamentalism were the driving forces of the society in which she lived. By the time she reached her 20′s it became apparent to her that she nor anyone else could thrive in such a culture; furthermore through education she was becoming aware of what havoc humanity was reeking upon the Earth: the sustainer of all living organisms known to man. Educating herself on as many sources of ancient and sacred texts and philosophies became of great importance. Ever since her early teenage years writing has been a constant passion and tool for her personal, spiritual and emotional growth. Recognizing and internalizing the reflections both inside and outside of herself that revealed unhappiness, suffering, instability and imbalance she resolved to make a change and a difference. What began as getting healthy and focused led to yoga classes with a friend which led to meditation and pranayama which led to an awareness of Self, an Open Heart and an active search for her Dharma. Lindsay firmly believes that each human being has a unique purpose and a unique and valuable set of gifts, strengths and weaknesses and that each person’s journey is of equal significance and value. She holds the same regard and reverence for all creatures of the Natural world. Today after a decade of building, exploring and settling into her Yoga practice she has found the importance of recognizing signs of imbalance and taking the responsibility to practice, explore and create ways to regain balance in an ever-changing and distracting world and empowering One’s Self to do so. For her, the ancient practice and science of Yoga is the key to tuning the human body instrument into the harmonious flow of life which she believes is the birthright of every human being. In 2010 she was certified in Hatha Yoga at Holy Cow Yoga center in Charleston, SC. She currently teaches Yoga at Barefoot Yoga Studio in North Charleston and as a partner with the non-profit organization WINGS for Kids whose goal is to create a sense Social and Emotional Awareness within children and give them tools to navigate successfully through life. In sharing her practice she hopes to empower her fellow beings to create and live a healthy, fulfilling life while instilling within them with respect and reverence for the Self , Mother Earth and All Life that She Sustains. She is dedicated to continued study, practice and integration of positive ways of living and creating a bright future for our selves and those who come after us honoring and studying the wisdom and guidance left to us by various ancient cultures from around the world.
