About The Teacher

Christine Heppermann is the author of the YA poetry collection Poisoned Apples: Poems for You, My Pretty and the novel-in-verse Ask Me How I Got Here, both of which were YALSA Best Books for Young Adults and Amelia Bloomer Project Recommended Feminist Literature selections. Her upcoming experimental novel-in-verse What Goes Up, scheduled for publication by Greenwillow/HarperCollins in 2020, takes place over the course of a single morning and is about family, friendship, betrayal, mushroom hunting, spore print art, and whether or not to get out of bed. A long-time book reviewer, she currently reviews young adult literature for the Chicago Tribune. She lives with her family in New York’s Hudson Valley.
