For more than twenty years Heidi has been guiding individuals through the process of inquiry, self-discovery, and authentic expression. Originally from the USA, Heidi has given herself over to her wanderlust and inherent curiosity to travel, study, volunteer, and teach all over the world. Recent adventures have taken her to Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Bali, Java, and Guatemala. Heidi has committed herself to a lifetime of learning about the body, movement, and the integration of the self. She has studied Dance extensively as well as various forms of movement and manual therapies such as: Yoga, Authentic Movement, Contact Improvisation, The Feldenkrais Method, Massage Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, and Energy Work. She holds an MFA in Dance, is a Registered Yoga Teacher (200hr), and a Licensed Massage Therapist (800hr). Heidi will be completing her 300hr AYTT in Winter 2017 with a focus on Yin and Restorative Yoga. She is also working towards becoming a Certified Life Coach by the end of 2017.
Heidi's classes are influenced by her varied background and range from restorative and quiet (Yin, Restorative, Functional) to dynamic and flowing (Hatha, Vinyasa). Classes are usually based on a concept, idea, or theme versus being a repetative, rote practice. Students are welcomed and encouraged to work at their own level, to find a practice that is meaningful and useful for them, and to be discerning in what they choose to incorporate. Heidi believes that there is a Yoga practice for everyone and enjoys working one on one with students as well as in group settings.
