Because of the influences in her childhood and formative years, she has had an on-going involvement in service throughout her life. She is grateful for those that helped her family survive those early years. At the age of sixteen upon attending a college fair, she decided to pursue a career as an art therapist.

She obtained two Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University in 2001. She holds a license to work as a Marriage and Family therapist in Oregon and California. She passed exams for a national board certification and maintains her ability to work as an art therapist throughout the country. Over the last 15 years of her career, she took advantage of numerous opportunities that expanded her goal to be an art therapist and she is currently operating a thriving private practice in Salem, Oregon.
A life of giving: Since a few days after her eighteenth birthday, she has used her passport to travel throughout Europe and Latin America. She served and successfully completed two years of Peace Corps service in youth and family community development in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Her primary project was to engage young children in schooling to prevent participation in the sex industry and teen pregnancy. She is fluent in Spanish from her school studies, Peace Corps service, and study abroad in Costa Rica. She began studying Salsa dancing in Costa Rica and continues to enjoy opportunities to learn more. She is a certified group exercise teacher that teaches yoga, body building, strength conditioning, and P90X. She organizes an active MeetUp in Salem, Oregon for Newcomers to the city. The creation of these retreats has been a result of a fifteen year dream and she is overjoyed by the opportunities to share and serve people with her dream. She hopes all participants walk away with the feeling that anything is possible and they are equipped with the tools to make their own dreams come true.
