Leslie Smith Frank

About us

Leslie began practicing mindfulness in 1993, and was surprised to discover that although her stressors did not change, she was better able to deal with them. And she felt so much better. After a 25-year career as a physician assistant, Leslie made a career change. Now a certified mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) teacher, she teaches MBSR at the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness. She is also an adjunct professor at Bay Path College where she teaches courses that incorporate contemplative practice to undergraduate and graduate students. In the community, Leslie offers a 10-week “Eat for Life” course on mindfulness-based intuitive eating. Leslie has taught mindful awareness practices to elementary, middle and high school students in the Longmeadow, Chicopee and Northampton schools. Her workshops and public talks on mindfulness and mindful eating are requested for educator in-service, corporate training, industrial safety, continuing education and community awareness programs. Her own challenges with food and body image have informed her training and teaching of mindful eating. Visit Leslie at www.map-center.org.
