For over a decade, Fani, has run her independent bookstore in Athens, Booktique. Guided by her love of books and reading, she has cultivated a welcoming space that continues to grow through new ideas and services — from children’s book subscriptions and curated gifts to a fully developed online shop that connects the physical and digital worlds of books.
In recent years, her work has focused on creating experiences around reading. She introduced book.atm, a book vending machine that makes literature more accessible, and launched initiatives such as the Athenian Assembly, where people share poetry in a safe environment, and Reading with Babies, a program dedicated to children aged 0–2. Most recently, she created Syn+Anagnosi, an initiative inviting people to come together, read, and share the calm that books uniquely provide.
Her long journey with reading, reader habits, and the need for human expression has reinforced her belief that books are not just objects, but bridges that build communities, offer refuge, and inspire growth.
