It was a happy coincidence that got Kelly involved with yoga, and she fell in love with it. With continued practice under some inspirational teachers like Debbie Blunden, Eileen Hall, Ana Forrest, Kathryn Budig, David Swenson and Peter Sanson, she started to experience positive transformation, and yoga became the main focus in her life. Kelly believes one’s relationship with yoga to be ever changing and evolving, that one can never stop learning, which means she is constantly educating herself further through self study.
Her main personal practice recently has been Mysore style ashtanga yoga, while also teaching open yoga classes, where she brings together all elements of her experience including asana, pranayam, mudra, meditation and chanting. Her classes have a focus on protecting the body, connecting with the breath, and calming the mind. She likes yoga to be challenging, nurturing, energetic and fun, having a connection to students needs, and allowing everyone to learn at their own level and pace.
Kelly completed a 500 hour, level 4 Diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga in teaching, and since then has been running her classes. Kelly keeps coming back to India to advance her knowledge of yoga with teachers like Saraswati Jois of the ashtanga tradition and Samita Rathor who passes down the tradition of TVS Desikachar, in subjects such as chanting, learning the sutras, pranayam and meditation.
With a decade of practice and years of teaching behind her, we are more than happy thatshe chose to join us in spreading the love of Yoga.
