Yi-Chun "Billy" Chang, contemporary performer and choreographer, finds his inspiration in both traditional and modern styles. His work is deeply influenced by martial arts, Chinese traditional opera movement and meditative arts. Born in Taiwan, Yi-Chun "Billy" Chang received his BFA degree in dance from the prestigious Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA). Teaching, choreographing and performing for over 15 years in Taiwan and abroad, and as an exchange student at SUNY-Purchase College. After graduating from TNUA and finishing his military service in Taiwan, Billy went on to dance with Cirque Du Soleil as a main character, the God of Fire, in the production, Dralion. Over his performance years with CDS, he continued to freelance, choreograph and direct productions around the world. Billy is passionate about the arts and enjoys sharing his Asian heritage wherever he goes.
