Curtis Hannagan

About The Teacher

Curt firstly established a connection with music at the age of 7 when he began to play the piano taking the influence from his father and grandmother who continued to play by ear well into her 90’s. At 11 years old he felt a stronger connection towards a percussive approach to music.

After the purchase of his first drum kit and then forming bands with his other musical friends he knew that this was his way to create, express and uplift. Curt began to improvise and develop strong connections with a vast array of percussive instruments within his teenage years such as Congas, Djembe’s, Tympani drums, Xylophones and Vibraphones as he completed a diploma of music at the Sydney Technical College of Music.

Curt has been featured on live television noticeably playing the drums on Channel 9, The Footy Show and for the South Sydney Rabbitoh’s football club. Curt was introduced to the hang/handpan and now studies, teaches and performs with this unique instrument and is very excited to incorporate this etheric and powerful sound current within the teachings of Yoga and meditation to further raise the level of consciousness on the planet.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I'm having a baby in October and want to focus my practice so I can be present and calm! Laine
