About The Teacher
Way back in 2000, I first dreamed of working from a home (contact info blocked)
The world was a bit different then and the virtual office phenomenon had not quite taken the world by storm yet. I certainly enjoyed the water cooler chats and the friendships formed at work.
However, not being a fan of driving in Los Angeles traffic and working in windowless rooms loaded with fluorescent light bars, I dreamed of consulting from home full-time and being self-employed.
Persistence, planning and a bit of luck eventually paid off. After consulting virtually as an instructional designer/trainer off-hours, I was able to quit my office job in 2008.
Donning yoga pants and a ponytail bathed in natural light*, I experienced more professional success than I could have ever imagined. Through various roles and projects, every year I learned more about a successful mindset, negotiating, coaching and how to determine a client's true business need. In 2015, I felt a strong calling to share more broadly what I have learned over the years. Sometimes, I knew exactly what I was doing - and at others, I felt like I was just jumping off a cliff hoping the parachute would open.
2016 is a launching point for me to dedicate more time to creating career-focused resources and that look at your whole self, body-mind-spirit.. As I embraced these these changes continued to do what I loved, things happened that I did not expect!
I realized that Los Angeles was no longer a fit for me. I could not live in a small space in a noisy, overcrowded urban area. In 2017, I relocated to the Ann Arbor, Michigan area. I now have the comfortable home I always dreamed of and access to both a great community and acres of nature. I have a home that nurtures me allowing me to give more to others. I am hoping to reach others with just a glimmer of hope that someday they do can have the career and work-life balance they dream of.
