Melanie Carlone, DPT, RYT has been actively involved with health and well being on the individual and community level for many years. Following completion of her Bachelors of Science in Psychology, she served 2 years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa, returned to the US to complete a Masters and Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has pursued extensive training in diverse alternative health practices including cranio-sacral therapy, reiki, yoga and yogic philosophy, meditation, healing touch, myo-fascial release, orthopedic manual therapy and transformational leadership skills . She now integrates her diverse expertise into integrated approaches to teach self sustaining health and wellness practices for overall well-being. Life experiences such as organizing and implementing a Health and Wellness Promotion program for a target population of 68,000 people at a major US military hospital, establishing a 3-year comprehensive rehabilitation program for Bucharest orphans in Romania, founding a community-based alternative school in northern Thailand, supporting AIDS orphan work in Botswana, pursuing the study of spiritual and mystical philosophies and practices, and certifying as a yoga teacher have been some of the factors contributing to her worldview, practice, therapeutic and teaching relationships.
