Jane Arthur, Minister of the Government Pillar for Shambhala
Jane Arthur is the Minister of the Government Pillar for Shambhala, and sits on the Kalapa Council – the highest governing body of our mandala.
Prior to her appointment as Minister in 2016, Ms. Arthur had contributed many years of service to Shambhala in various leadership roles. She lived at Karmê Chöling from 1997-2000 where she held several positions including Program Sphere Manager. At the request of the Sakyong, she became the Executive Director of the Boulder Shambhala Centre, where she served from 2000-2004. She then moved to Shambhala Mountain Centre to be Head of Practice and Education from 2005-2006. During that time, Ms. Arthur also served as the Chair of the Marpa House Board and as a Secretary to the Sakyong. From 2006-2014 she then accepted the position of Executive Director of Karmê Chöling, and in 2015 she served as Director of Residential and Retreat Centres and Kalapa Envoy for Leadership Training and Mentorship.
Before coming to Shambhala in 1997, Ms. Arthur obtained degrees in nursing and and law, and spent several years pursuing careers in each of these professions.Source: dorjedenmaling.secure.retreat.guru
