Details of this retreat

A winter retreat to help you turn inward, self-reflect, and express yourself with ease.

As winter solstice approaches, we gather in stillness and allow quiet presence to lead us back to ourselves. In this Wild Heart Writing retreat, we begin by invoking the muse, releasing expectations and setting aside our inner critics. Clear, compelling writing follows, seemingly without effort.

Through fresh, provocative prompts and timed exercises, we loosen our unique creativity. Words surface, memories return and stories emerge. We read aloud in an inspiring, supportive circle — no critique, only encouragement. This practice can serve as a meditation, a window to the words within, or a way to rekindle any stalled writing project.

No experience is needed, only a pen, a notebook, and a willingness to play and listen to your inner voice.

Please keep in mind: We will write by hand on pen and paper, not with the use of a keyboard or electronic device.

Meditation retreat
I cannot recommend highly enough. I knew very little (essentially nothing) about Ratna Ling before I took myself here last weekend for a retreat. All I knew is that I had been under a lot of stress. This place is magical. I have begun my healing journey thanks to this experience I gave myself. Wonderful staff and teachers and amazing food. Very comfortable, relaxing accommodations. I will be going back and soon!

Peaceful and deep healing
My weekend at Ratna Ling for a meditation retreat was so extremely peaceful and healing - it was completely unexpected. I realized very quickly that any insecurity I held about my practice or journey was self created struggle, as there was zero feelings of intimidation or discomfort regarding my level of meditative mastery or lack thereof. The option of silence was a surprisingly welcomed and appreciated aspect for me to allow myself to stay inward, open, and contemplative about my experience. I cannot wait to return to this beautiful, healing and delicious place.

Be-Friending Oureselves
My experience was great! Taylor was open, welcoming, easy to understand and follow. The food was delicious! The only little thing I want to mention is the cleanliness of the cabin. For the most part is was good, but there were spiders and webs in my bedroom when you look up, higher than eye level. A few webs in the living room light fixtures as well.

Yoga over age 50
Everything about the yoga retreat and the Ratna Ling Retreat Center exceeded my expectations. Those Redwoods, the yoga instructor, yoga students and the Ratna Ling cottages, staff and food were just what my heart and soul needed. Looking forward to returning to Ratna Ling for another beautiful retreat. Namaste. Rosanna H.

Kind and gentle teaching
I enjoyed being introduced to this type of yoga. I found our teacher to be thoughtful in her teaching. And so, I was able to relax into the experience.
