About This Center
The Eagle Condor Alliance offers 10 Day Sacred Medicine Retreats in the mountains outside of Medellin, Colombia. Participants stay in BnB quality housing while experiencing traditional Cofan Ayahuasca (Yage) ceremonies in conjunction with Red Road (El Camino Rojo) San Pedro Cactus and sweat lodge ceremonies. By bringing these traditions and medicines together we do our part to fulfill the ancient Prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor.
Our central mission is to spread consciousness, awareness and love by being the bridge between our participants and the ancient traditions and sacred medicines of the Americas. We are ultimately concerned with conserving the forests of the Americas, starting in Colombia, where these medicines, traditions, and wisdoms are found. Part of the profits of every retreat are dedicated to land conservation and social uplift for our elders in Colombia,
THE ELEMENTS OF OUR WORK
Healing With All of the Sacred Medicines
We offer all of the sacred plants of the Americas in one powerful and rejuvenating 10 day retreat. Ayahuasca, San Pedro, and Temazcal (sweat lodge) ceremonies each have their own unique spirit, tradition, and way of showing us to ourselves. We believe that using these plants together in guided contexts creates the most profound and curative spiritual experience.
Intensive Plant Medicine Immersion Experience
The demanding itinerary of ECA retreats requires that participants approach the medicine with respect, reverence and strength. These medicines lead us to confront both the beauty and darkness in each of us, and will power is needed to maintain consistent focus on our transformative internal process during the 5 plant ceremonies and 3 sweat lodges that we share.
Our Commitment to the Individual
Each participant comes with his or her own past experiences, health concerns, goals, ambitions, medical history, and intentions for the retreat. At ECA, retreat groups are limited to 10 participants. The group is attended to by group facilitators and 2 experienced healers who are committed to creating bonds of trust and compassion that form the foundation for the healing processes of participants
Experienced Healers and The Purest Medicine
ECA’s healers have been finding, harvesting, and preparing their own medicines to the benefit of their respective communities for over 40 years. They offer these gifts from Mother Earth in their purest forms. ECA’s medicines are never altered or mixed with other substances or plants.
The Setting – Colombia’s Natural Beauty
ECA’s retreats are held high in the Andes Mountains outside of Medellin, Colombia in one of the most spectacular settings imaginable. Lush, green deciduous forests combine with tropical vegetation at 8,500ft above sea level to form a truly unique and breathtaking backdrop for our own internal transformations
Comfort and Rejuvenation
Comfort is a crucial element in this reviving and re-energizing experience, and it’s typically forgotten by most other retreat centers. Participants at ECA retreats: sleep in comfortable, soft beds; take hot showers; eat delicious, healthy cuisine; drink fresh mountain water; walk outside without being devoured by insects; can opt-in or opt-out of any retreat activities; and are given ample alone time for reflection and self-examination. The mild climate also helps us rest
Convenience and Price
Fly direct into Medellin’s international airport for a fraction of what it costs to get to Cusco, Leticia, Iquitos or other locations, and arrive at the retreat center in under 30 minutes via our private transport. No special vaccinations or injections required. Additionally, no visas are required in order to enter Colombia (90 days tourist visa on arrival). We provide all food, housing, and on the ground transport in order to make our retreat relaxing and hassle free.

I have attended 2 retreats at ECA, in April 2017 and January 2020. I found my self at ECA originally for med resistant clinical depression, anxiety and chronic inflammation. My second time there I was looking for physical healing as well as spiritual growth. Both experiences changed my life and moved me forward on my path. During my stays, I could not have asked for a better place to heal and grow. The medicine is strong, the healers are available and attentive, the food and staff make you feel like family and the facilitators, Bobby and Jesse, are amazing in and out of ceremonies. I appreciate the attention shown to tradition, and the time the healers, Bobby, Jesse and the staff put in to make everyone feel like family and welcome. At some retreats, it is impossible to find the healers for a personal consultation - but here they make it a point to understand why you are there and answer any questions or concerns that come up. Contrary to a previous review I read, both times I have attended this center the other participants have been mostly middle-aged and older - and a few younger people who were there for their own healing. Part of what I enjoy most about ECA (over other places I have attended) is the community. The conversation is enlightening and I learn from each and every person who found themselves there at the same time as I. Many of them I maintain contact with today. The grounds are beautiful and offer many places to find solitude and peace, including the private rooms if that's what you choose. The food is healthy, filling, delicious and served with love. The medicine is the strongest I have had (I have participated elsewhere too) and always leads me right where I need to go. My (our) job is to trust the process and the medicine without resistance and be ready to figure out how to move forward with the given journey. I appreciate Bobby and Jesse very much - as well as the rest of their family/staff. It is important to feel safe during such experiences - and I have felt that in every ceremony I have attended there. I am not sure how they do it - but someone is always there when they are needed. I have seen other places that do not assist one outside of the maloka - but here they do. It is nice to know someone is paying attention and will be there if I'm unable to care for myself as needed. I would recommend ECA to anyone interested in healing and growing with the sacred medicines in a traditional way while feeling supported, loved and cared for. Another bonus is the conversation with them does not end after the retreat - they maintain the connection to help any way the can after getting back home. This is a place I will continue visiting for as long as the medicine calls. I look forward to seeing what they do with their new location!

The medicine they have in Colombia is immensely powerful, I believe this is not due to only the medicine itself but also to the environment, respect, and honor that is held around the traditions at this retreat center. Before joining the retreat at Eagle condor, I had attended a 10 day retreat in Costa Rica a couple years prior. My experience in Costa Rica was also very life-changing, but in a much different way. The deep-seated healing that I was searching for, I only experienced at Eagle condor. The space that is held in Colombia gives you the potential to go as deep as you’re ready for, giving you the possibility to heal not only yourself but the lineage of your ancestors alongside you. The approach of the shamans (Taitas) are somewhat hands off, there if you ever need them but they are trying to facilitate a space for you to do the healing directly with the medicine on your own.... instead of feeling that you must heal directly through the shaman. I still feel a very strong connection with the medicine 9 months later... but not only with the medicine, I feel very strong sense of community with every individual I attended the retreat with and also all the facilitators which I continuously stay in touch with. This is a community and a family. I am beyond grateful that I was welcomed in with open arms by everyone. The only thing that could’ve made this better is some type of outside platform where I could practice my yoga and meditation, there was enough room to do this in my private bedroom and on the grass but would enjoy a platform outside. I highly recommend this retreat center to anyone who is looking to find deep healing with the medicines!

I am writing this review more than a year after I attended so it is definitely not being written impulsively or in a way that is trying to cause harm to the center. I'm not quite as high on the retreat as others are. I have drank ayahuasca and san pedro over a hundred times and in several cultures and am seeking healing for a rare disease. I think the affordability factor of the retreat compared to ones I've been to in Peru and Costa Rica make it more accessible for people in their younger twenties. I think the problem with that is that you have a lot of kids that are trying to check off a box on their bucket list by drinking plant medicine and the conversations that take place in this retreat reflect the youth that it draws. I heard conversations about double penetration porn, tinder, and reality shows. I paid to have a private room so that I wouldn't have to hear many personal conversations but the "private room" is in a cabin where the group meets and hangs out in. And there are meetings all the time for no reason at all. The room itself has windows that are open to the living room so there is no chance for privacy or to recharge. If you're looking for deep healing and not for frat boy conversations then this is not the place for you. I also had a bad cold the entire trip and was extremely congested. While in the sweat lodge I asked if I could sit closest to the door due to concerns about breathing. That request was shot down and I was at the back of the tipi, sandwiched between two big guys, as far away from the door as possible. I had a severe panic attack that could have completely been avoided with a small accommodation and the san pedro shaman simply ignored me and kept singing. I stomped on several people to get out of there. I am not claustrophobic but was sick and they completely disregarded me. At no point did I ever get an apology from anyone. Speaking of San Pedro, no one in the group really had any effects from that medicine. It felt like we wasted two nights and opportunities. What was interesting is that the locals who participated in ceremony were making fun of the "gringos" outside for not being able to connect to the medicine. I've never had that experience in Peruvian cultures. The yage was extremely potent and pretty terrifying so most people got out of it what they needed. For seasoned drinkers I thought it was odd that the shamans didn't work on you when you went through rough passages. It was a shame for me because I have strong mediumship experiences and need a shaman to work through it. The yage shaman was a really nice young guy that was strongly committed to his curriculum and wouldn't deviate regardless of any crisis situations that came up. The first ceremony he sings all night in a hammock and isn't accessible or visible. The second ceremony he does some healing work in pairs but its for a small portion of the time and its on his schedule. Again there is no opportunity to get help when you need it. The third ceremony is in the daytime and outside. There were some opportunities to consult with the shaman but again no direct healing work when you needed it. Bobby and Jessie are nice young hipster guys and well intentioned, but I don't think they have the life experience to run such an intense experience. I know that there were times during yage that I was compelled to slit my throat and couldn't find anyone for help. Overall it was a fair experience but I wouldn't recommend for anyone in need of deeper healing.

I was greeted by Mark at the airport, who ended up sharing his home with me throughout my stay at ECA. A kind and hospitable man; his wise words, wonderful humor, and guidance aided me in navigating the sometimes murky waters of this sort of inner work. He kept the house lit with comforting wood fire, served me up tea and fried sugar plantain. Great dude! The food throughout the stay was excellent. The cooks knew exactly what to prepare for this sort of experience. Delicious fish and high protein meals before Yage’ ceremonies. Fruit, salad, and nourishing soups post-ceremony. Very well done. And they genuinely took joy in feeding and nourishing us with wonderful meals. Cooking can be done as an act of love, great food is itself a medicine. The facilitators were kind, knowledgeable, no-nonsense guys; communicating via the heart. During a particularly rough portion of the retreat Bobby reassured me that the things that were happening were indeed very good, and were evident of the effectiveness of what I seemed to be going through. Jesse helped me to really crack into the core of what I was experiencing, and reminded me to trust the process. The affirmation of trust and acceptance being quite pivotal. Much happened over the stay, purging on all levels. The facilitators, staff, and were all quite soft and accepting; they maneuver the work with warmth and grace. It is a blessing to have such a space, with such people, in which to practice this sort of heavy inner work. There I was puking, crapping, cursing, exorcising demons; and they were hugging me, keeping me wrapped in soft warm blankets, and turning my attention to the love they all live and share. I am grateful for ECA for providing such comfort and acceptance while navigating such vulnerable processes. Their traditions are beautiful, they strike me as quite old and powerful. Mostly beyond my comprehension, all I know is that I respect what they are doing and know it to be a great service to the world. Potent ceremonies. Ancient medicine. Life really is a gift. Me gusto! I’ll be going back there for sure.

I had wanted to do plant medicine for a few years and felt when the right place came along I would know it. Eagle Condor Alliance was recommended to me by a good friend so I decided to explore it. I had heard that they support the locals and that felt like the right energy of people to connect with. From the first conversation with Bobby I understood how seriously they took the retreat. He was immediately attentive and kind in answering my questions. Continuing the arrangements, the team showed warmth and patience with any other queries I had so that I felt completely safe to go to Colombia on my own. As many will say, the experience itself is a very personal one. For me, it's taken a month for me to feel like I can write a review. It was incredible, beyond anything else I've done. While I was there to experience the medicine, it encompassed so much more than I could imagine. I was fortunate to be amongst an incredible group of participants, who became so close throughout. Bobby, Jesse, Hans and Jacob along with the healers held us in a space unlike any other. And Leidi and Maggie, what can I say? The food, the love, the preparation, the support. I genuinely feel and know that I have this family no matter where we all are in the world. I don't normally make recommendations to others for things so personal because I feel like this experience calls you from the inside. But I can say with my hand on my heart, that this is an extraordinary place to be. Life is more beautiful and I am sure I shall return. Ever grateful to Eagle Condor Alliance.

My experience at ECA was 10 days of profound change and expansion that still is unfolding weeks later to this day. So much of the work with the medicine cannot be articulated, but it was exactly what was needed. The healers are some of the most awe inspiring individuals I have ever been in the presence of, and they have opened my eyes to a completely new world. The facilitators Hans, Jesse, Bobby, and Jacob are also amazing individuals with so much love and compassion. At ECA you are truly in the best hands possible. The food is amazing, the retreat grounds are amazing, everything is amazing! I feel blessed to have been a part of the ECA family and I will be back no doubt!

Just returning from my second retreat at ECA and feeling the joy emanating throughout my being. First of all, the grounds at the retreat center are magical- think of a beautiful open semi-rainforest that overlooks the city. With tall trees, beautiful green plants everywhere, and a landscape bursting with flowers- it's a dream just to be there. On top of that- whether you stay in one of the houses or camp, you're in for a treat. The houses are beautiful and cozy and have lovely fireplaces to keep warm, and the camping situation is easily the most comfortable camping I've experienced. Second, there's the food- which is both extremely delicious and is cooked with an enormous amount of love. Then, there's the medicine and the healers. The medicine served here is no joke, it's both strong and extremely beautiful. You are in the absolute best of hands with the two healers, Gonzalo and Leonitus, who make sure every individual is safe and cared for as they work through their individual processes with the medicines. I recommend going in with an open mind and an open heart, remembering to express gratitude for every part of the process (especially the hard parts) and remembering to breathe and relax if anything feels challenging during the ceremonies. I would also like to give a huge shout-out to Bobby, Jesse, Hans (and Mark!) for their amazing assistance through the process. From the first phone call you feel how much they truly care about your process with the medicines. They're there to answer questions, to make sure your stay is comfortable, and to help you through your process- before, during, and after ceremony. By the end of your stay, you feel like a part of the family. In short, I don't think I could recommend ECA highly enough and would encourage anyone who is interested in going on an ayahuasca or san pedro retreat to reach out to them and give them a call - you wont be disappointed. This retreat was my first experience using any kind of medicine as well as travelling outside the country, it was an absolutely amazing journey. From the beginning the facilitators were always available to answer questions and concerns even before arriving to Colombia, as well as assisting with arriving to the retreat's location. Even without the use of the medicines the traditions and ceremonies were beautiful to be witness to, the facilitators were genuine in their beliefs and there was never a moment where I felt the retreat was a touristy gimmick. Everything in the ceremonies had a purpose and there was so much meticulous detail in the rituals that the facilitators told us it would take years to fully explain every component, which I believe. The first night I felt like an foreign outsider being allowed to watch their sacred traditions, but by morning I felt welcome as a family member, never feeling like I was treated differently. Jesse, Hans, Bobby, and Jacob were all authentic and very knowledgeable. They were nothing like hippy purist types that some might be expecting. They're all down to earth and appreciate humor, they're very easy to relate to and feel comfortable with. Each of them have a unique personality, but they work together extremely well. The way they handle the retreat and respected each individual was something I felt I could learn from for my own day to day life. The environment was beautiful, not too far out in the middle of nowhere and not in a busy city. About a 30min drive from the airport, it felt like a relief not having to make a long journey there. When the schedule permitted we were allowed to go for walkinto to town which is fairly close and it never felt dangerous to walk out alone. I would have like to be able to go on a short hike or trail but once we began taking the medicine that wouldn't have been the best idea. Weather was great, we were lucky to have sunshine for the majority of our stay, although if felt very cool and refreshing be aware that due to the high elevation it is very easy to get sun burnt. The nights and some of the days were chilly so make sure the bring a light jacket or long sleeved shirts. The food is great and delicious, the best meals you've ever had after a long ceremony. Leidi and Margarita are very hospitable and loving by making sure everyone is taken care of. There is light fasting before the ceremonies so just be aware of that Gonzalo and Leonidas are the real deal, at a glance they may look like regular people, but once you partake in the ceremony you realize the power that they both hold. During the day I felt the medicine become stronger just with their presence on the property. They are both authentic and genuine who absolutely believe in the power of the medicine, everyone at the retreat holds complete respect for these two and its deserved. I chose Eagle condor alliance based off reviews I read so I wanted to try to make a fitting review of my trip. Although it was my only experience, I would absolutely come to the same retreat again, also wanting to bring family and friends along if they're interested. I feel I've written too much but at the same time I feel it's not enough to express my gratitude for everyone at the Eagle Condor Alliance, thank you all so much

I did this retreat in June 2019 , and i am feeling the positive effects still. The facilitators are wonderfully supportive , and the healers are top-notch. I would recommend this to anyone looking to explore, to heal, and to understand their place in the family of things. I am so grateful for my 10 days at ECA, and very much hope to come back before long. This is important work, and it’s hard to imagine a better place to do it than ECA.

I’d been wanting to go to a retreat like this for a long time, but I was skeptical about a lot of places. From all that I’d learned about ayahuasca before (reading or from experience), and from talking to Bobby by voice call, I felt good about how they run things. I wasn’t disappointed at all in what I actually found once I arrived. It was a great environment thanks to everyone involved there. I had a bit of nervous energy before the first ceremony, but that all quickly dissipated once we got into the maloka and I could see and feel the warmth and family (literally) atmosphere. It’s easy to see there’s a lot of thought and care that goes into everything there. It was also great having discussions with the facilitators who knew where we were coming from and had seen people pass through and had practical advice for how to turn the experiences into more than just pretty colors and a story to tell friends. I had had some difficult times without a shaman, but during one of the ceremonies, thanks to Leonidas, I was able to break through that and experience something sublime. I really don’t know how I can realistically say the retreat could have gone better. Even before I had left I was thinking about when would be good to come back. As much as people may go mainly for ayahuasca, the san pedro ceremonies and temezcal (sweat lodge) were amazing as well, and I felt the schedule as a whole was well planned. I didn't really know what to expect with the sweat lodge, except that I had heard good things and wanted to try it. It's far more than a simple sauna!

The retreat at ECA is truly an amazing experience. From the moment I arrived I felt like I was welcomed into a family. Bobby and Jesse are extremely passionate about what they do and are excellent guides. Gonzalo and Leonidas are incredible healers, who remain very down to earth and approachable. Lady is full of love in the kitchen, cooking amazing food. The other beautiful humans who reside at ECA also add their love, light and laughter. The plant medicines are very effective and are given with respect and kindness. This place is all about healing and paying homage to our beautiful planet. I feel very blessed to have been able to spend 10 days with the ECA family and I very much look forward to visiting again!!!

This is an amazing retreat, and it has the potential to impart lots of lessons. Working with the medicines at ECA was greatly enhanced by the presence of the family and the way they've structured the retreat. The emphasis keeps going back to you (the individual) and how you can take these lessons back. This in my opinion is really the whole point, so needless to say i found it really useful. Bobbie and Jesse were always available for help or advice, and I think that's one of the great things about this retreat: support is there when needed. I'm quite grateful to them and pray they carry on the good work. I highly recommend ECA to others who want to experience Yage (ayahuasca) and San Pedro.

My experience at Eagle Condor Alliance was extraordinary and I consider this 10 day retreat to be one of the best investments I've ever made in myself. The team at Eagle Condor Alliance was very professional and extremely well-prepared. They helped me understand the plant medicine, its effects and what to expect (in some cases helping me to expect the unexpected!). I am very grateful for the all the Eagle Condor Alliance team and I would not go anywhere else in the future to experience the plant medicine. This experience was life-transforming for me and I am eternally grateful to the Eagle Condor Alliance!

From the moment I was picked up from the airport, I knew I was in good hands. But truthfully, my positive experience with the ECA started long before the retreat even began—and so far has extended long after. I was referred to the ECA through the glowing review of a close friend. I had been searching for some new roads to self explorations and learning for a while, and through my friend’s description and through my email and skype chats with Bobby and Jesse, felt confident the ECA could help with some answers. Bobby and Jesse were extremely helpful and available and made feel unconditionally safe and unjudged. By the time I arrived in Colombia months later, I already felt at home. As for the retreat itself, I remain blown away by the care and thoughtfulness that Bobby, Jesse and the whole ECA family put into creating the entire experience. As a first time yage drinker, I had no idea what to expect, but the guys walked us through every step of the way. I say easily say without any hyperbole that my experience with the ECA has been one of the most meaningful, positive, and perspective changing experiences of my life. I’ve returned home with a new family, a full heart, and a renewed gratitude for life. I you are in search of a sacred medicine experience, I cannot recommend the ECA more highly.

I could write pages about this place but i feel it would do you a disservice, this is a place you must go. The people who run the retreat and ceremonies are beyond amazing. Their compassion, love, and knowledge is vast and the environment they help create is something that can only be experienced. You will leave with a bigger family than you came with

I attended the Eagle Condor Alliance (ECA) retreat in July 2018 and believed that it was the most life changing experience I have had. I have grown spiritually, found a deep love for life, feel more connected with my soul and with nature. There were different sacred medicine ceremonies throughout the week and each one had left a profound imprint on me personally in a way that affects me continuously in my daily life at home. The retreat grounds were relaxing and had beautiful views of the mountain surrounds and Medillin City. My room was comfy, tidy and clean. And Lady, who cooked all our meals, did so with love. Bobby and Jesse are both beautiful souls offering, kindness, compassion and respect. They were both approachable and comforting during and post ceremonies. During my darkest time on the medicine I was able to go through my processes knowing that I was safe and secure in their presence. The healers, Greison and Gonzolo deserve vast recognition for their love, sacrifice and dedication to all the participants. If you are searching for your soul purpose or wanting to heal your past/ancestral wounds you no longer need to look further. Life will start to reveal all the answers to you at ECA.

The retreat at ECA was a magnificent experience, a transformative process that starts before getting there and continues after leaving. The entire ECA community is absolutely great, you will feel welcome right from the beginning as everybody is extremely helpful and loving. For me, one of the most important aspects was the ever-present respect for the ancient traditions. This does not only hold true in ceremony (be it yage, san pedro, temazcal or tobacco) but also for all times in-between ceremonies. Next to the importance of carrying out a retreat in that way, as it will allow you to get the most out of the process, this respect for traditions also gives participants a lot of ideas on how to improve their everyday-lives. I can therefore only recommend this retreat to everyone who is serious about turning to the ancestral traditions for healing and changing their lives. Of course, every part of the ECA experienxe contributes to that: the medicine, the structure of the retreat, the amazing food, the atmosphere, the location and so many other aspects were responsible for all group participants to be left with a very deep feeling of thankfulness towards ECA.

If you are called to this retreat, please go and know that you will be well taken care of on every level. My experience was powerful and overwhelming, looking back, I could not be more grateful to have opened up to the healing of ayahuasca in this environment specifically...because of that, I can say- be confident in the choice to come here, let go of doubts and the insignificance of accommodations and logistics, do this for yourself and your ancestors because you have the resources to do so, you will not be disappointed.

It's hard to describe my experience in words, but hopefully what I write will help in your decision-making. After feeling 'stuck' at a certain point in my life, I decided it was time to give myself an opportunity to 'reset'. After an exhaustive search on the internet, I found the ECA's website to be the most authentic, well-worded, and non-commercial. I was impressed by the fact that they give 25% of their income back to the indigenous elders, and to protect/restore the Amazon. They also require you to communicate with them via Skype for a two-way interview, and to fill out a health intake form. During the Skype interview with Hans, I strongly felt that I was meeting someone who was grounded, sincere, caring, and professional. There was no hard-sell tactic; quite the contrary. He was very honest about the therapeutic and non-recreational aspect of the retreat schedule. Everyone's experience with yage is different. Mine was difficult, but so is being me. While I didn't love being under the influence as much as I wanted to (ask for a weaker brew if you're highly sensitive), I was extremely moved by the care and attention that I, and all of us, were shown by Hans, Bobby, and Jesse. Whenever I was sick, or didn't think I could go on, one of them was there with me, telling me that I was stronger than I realized. Before our first ceremony, I thought they had the coolest 'job' in the world. After one night of looking after us in the maloka, I now know how difficult and serious their work is. Perhaps the best part of the experience for me was bonding with the rest of the group. I grew to love everyone in the group, and experienced deep connection, some of it with people I initially didn't think I would want to hang out with for 10 days. We all arrived with whatever 'armor' we use to protect ourselves; 3 days into the retreat, most of that armor was gone, replaced by authenticity, kindness, vulnerability, and a camaraderie that only comes with sharing intense life-changing experiences. I want to reiterate that Bobby, Hans, and Jesse are the real deal. They are faithful to the traditions and have the utmost integrity; single ladies can feel absolutely safe with these beautiful guys. They are also committed to living as sustainably as possible, and to giving back to the elders. Although originally from the U.S. and Australia, they speak perfect Spanish, have close Colombian friends, and have integrated into the culture. The shamen, Greison and Gonzalo, are also the real deal, and are very much an integral part of the ECA family, as is Eli, who tirelessly provided us with delicious and healthful food during our retreat. If you want to swim with dolphins, sight-see, or go on long hikes, this is not your retreat. If you want an intense journey inward, and to experience profound, safe connection with others, with shamen and facilitators who have the integrity needed to do this work, this is the place. It can be a little chilly, so bring warmer clothes than you think you’ll need for a visit to Colombia. I look forward to future retreats with these beautiful people.

There are no words to express this amazing experience. You must find out for yourself, but if you're reading this right now, know that you are on the right track. In the 10 days I spent with ECA, I found a deep love, connection, and acceptance for planet, all that inhabit it, and beyond. It is the most profound healing I have ever received. We are largely responsible for our own journey with the medicine (it is 50% you, 40% medicine, and 10% shaman), and while this is true, that 10% shaman is crucial. Let Greison and Chalo (as well as Jesse, Bobby, and Hans) guide you on this incredible journey. Look no further.

If you are reading these reviews and they spark something in your heart, please trust that feeling. I am so grateful I was led by my heart to this beautiful place. There is an incredibly strong and pure intention in the work that is carried out at the ECA. Hans, Bobby and Jesse were fantastic leaders. They guided us through a really integrated process from beginning to end. The principle of walking the path of the heart is encouraged through ritual, teaching and most importantly, by example. I am proud to have shared time with everyone I met there. The ceremonies were life changing for me. I was incredibly grateful to be in the company of the healers Gonzalo and Greison who conducted the ceremonies with a magic and wisdom that is beyond me. It was my first time experiencing San Pedro and Ayahuasca, but I can tell that the medicines were very powerful and effective. The experience was indescribable and infinite. There was so much that I was shown by the medicine that it has changed me forever. It reconnected my towards my heart, my ability to love, my animal nature, and gave me a thousand lessons on gratitude, humility, compassion and respect. Thank you. The set and setting of the whole retreat is perfect. Surrounded by beautiful trees and tropical birds and at 8,700 feet up in the mountain, I could think of nowhere I would rather go to reconnect. Everything is relaxed and inspiring. I must thank Elena for always preparing such delicious food with the warmest smile. There is an authenticity, compassion, humanity and beauty to the whole process. I felt like I was always in safe hands. There is a great feeling of trust and warmth. I left feeling part of the ECA family, and I am forever grateful for my time there.

I will start by saying that as someone who was born in Colombia, who was lightly familiar with some of the rich ancestry linked to the concept at the base of this type of healing, I had specific and high expectations of this experience. I also have dealt with some difficult challenges in life and wanted to make sure that this was the right choice, so I was ready to remain skeptical for as long as needed. But now I can confidently say that not only those expectations were met, but they were also clearly surpassed. The medicines are challenging and powerful, and for that reason I know this is the right place to experience them. The main requirement that I had when choosing a place to take these medicines was a clear sense of safety, and this is a quality that I felt was always at the base of every activity during this ten day journey. The beautiful, thoughtful, and generous individuals behind ECA, were truly there for me and for everyone else during our retreat; and the taitas (or shamans) are not only knowledgeable, but also responsible with the way in which they use the medicines and treat their guests. I can't say enough positive things about my experience with ECA. I left with my heart full of love, a more balanced body, and with my mind and soul ready to continue evolving in a brighter direction. And of course, with many new friends that I look forward to seeing again. Did I mention they also have some amazing-delicious, fresh Colombian food? The people, the location, the food, the gatherings around the fire, the teachings, the discovery, the personal journey... so many positive things to write about this experience, so it's a 10 out 10!

I attended the retreat in November 2017. Before committing to ECA, I read all the raving reviews on the website, and I have to say they are all true! I had never done any yahe or san pedro ceremony so for me it was very important that somebody was there to explain and answer a lot of questions. Bobby and Jesse are really two of the nicest and most caring human beings I have ever met. They will explain in great detail everything you need or want to know about the ceremonies. I can’t stress enough how important it is to have two angels like Jesse and Bobby on your side who not only introduce you to a new chapter in your life but also guide you step-by-step through the process. They are literally there to hold your hand and will do whatever it takes so you have the best experience possible. Besides the medicine being superb and strong you will meet two amazing, responsible and wise healers and listen to the most wonderful music during and after the ceremonies. If you want to experience this plant medicine in a loving and safe place then you should join the ECA family.

ECA is such a wonderful retreat center. Everything from the healers, to the medicine, to the facilitators, to the food, and the atmosphere are just great. Bobbi, Hans, and Jessie are everything you could ask for in facilitators. They take their roles extremely seriously and offer kind loving support to help you through what can be a very challenging process. The healers here are very experienced and offer medicine of the highest and purest degree. Both Gonzalo and Greison guide you through very deep and life-illuminating ceremonies. I would strongly urge anyone looking for a Yage retreat to follow your calling to ECA. I promise you that you'll be happy to have made this decision.

The facilitators and healers at ECA have the utmost respect and reverence for the sacred medicines and ancient traditions of the Americas, which I consider to be the most important aspect of the experience. You are in good hands with ECA. I have such deep admiration and appreciation for the important work they do to support people on their journeys to healing and awakening. This retreat changed my life and I look forward to going back. Logistically speaking, accommodations are great and the food is incredible. There is a lot of intention and care put into each aspect of this retreat. Lots of love to everyone at ECA! Aho.

This retreat is safe and incredibly effective for healing and growth. I felt so connected to the earth, god, and myself. I was able to realize things that would have taken a decade in traditional therapy to understand. It was so worth every penny. The food and grounds are amazing and the facilitators and healers are so helpful and dedicated. If you go with ECA, I guarantee you will come out the other side a better, happier person! =)

I attended retreat at ECA in April of 2017, and it was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone who feels called to work with these sacred plant medicines. The detail and love that goes into these retreats, by so many people, blew me away. From the moment I was picked up from the airport, until I was dropped back off, I felt a part of a family, well cared for, and very safe. The location was gorgeous, the medicine very effective, the healers are very loving and have plenty of experience, and the food was AMAZING! The knowledge I have learned from Bobby, Jesse, and Hans blew me away, and will stay with me forever. This community truly loves what they do and it shows in every aspect of this retreat and beyond.

The Japanese word Yuugen means “an awareness of the universe that triggers emotional responses that are too mysterious and deep for words.” Yuugen is the only way to succinctly describe my experience at Eagle Condor Alliance. On several occasions I wanted to leave the retreat due to anxiety, fear, and inability to let go. Healing deep-rooted issues was more than I thought I could handle. The men leading this retreat were there to carry me when I couldn’t carry myself though (literally and figuratively). Bobby, Hans, and Jesse are three of the most transcendent individuals I have met. Alongside the ancestral wisdom of the taitas, Greison and Gonzalo, these five men deliver an experience unrivaled in spiritual power. Despite a strong desire to abandon my intentions and fly home, I stayed at the retreat. The 10-day process had to be carried out to know whether plant medicines could help me. I am glad beyond words that I stayed. While intense anxiety and difficult moments continued to arise throughout the week, I also experienced profound joy and revelations. I forgave, let go of resentments and attachments, found compassion for others, developed a connection to parts of life I didn’t know existed, and discovered clarity where I was confused. The plants didn’t necessarily do what I wanted them to do, but they did what I needed them to do. I am not cured of all that ails me, but I have been shown a better path. Now it’s up to me to take that path, an open heart path. I’m not alone as I move forward though – you leave ECA as a family member rather than a customer. We are forever linked to the men and women who shared this experience with us. I hope to see many of them again one day and trust they are there for me if I need them. Consider giving yourself at least a day or two of personal rest following the retreat. Going straight back to work was challenging. Staying in accommodations away from the main common area may also be preferable to some, as sleep can be difficult in that area. Finally, don’t hesitate to bring a warm hat or other comfortable cool-weather items although the guys will provide as many blankets as you need if you are cold. I would be remiss to not also point out that a young woman named Eli is equally profound in bringing love to the retreat through her culinary genius. I miss Eli and her food and now seek places in my hometown that resemble her cooking. Eli’s meals taste better than the ingredients alone, because they are cooked with loving intention. If you seek deep healing and a higher truth, you will likely find it at ECA. Good luck wherever you go.

Connecting with the medicines is a very profound experience and every single one is extremely individual. I was planning my first encounter with the medicine and therefore it was very important for me to find a place where I would feel safe and in good hands. I could not imagine just to go to a place without knowing anyone, I needed to gain trust before I would go. The ECA family is taking time to talk to each interested person on skype. This establishes a basis of trust and both, the ECA family and the interested person have the chance to find out if they belong together. This is just a short remark for people that might feel like me trying to find the right place for this profound journey. ECA is the RIGHT place for you! From the very first moment there, during and even after the retreat my first impression of this place and the people was exceeded by far. Healers, facilitators, cooks and friends are just words describing their dedication. But who they truly are is a big, wonderful & caring family. And they will treat you as a family member from the first moment on. Apart from that, it is noteworthy that during the whole retreat Jesse, Bobby and Hans would accompany the participants during the day, before and after the ceremony. They have introduced us into the world of the sacred medicines, they have explained us the traditions and they gave us good advices. They were there as well for private talks if needed. And during the ceremonies they offered us the best imaginable care. Not only their dedication is astonishing, but also Gonzalos and Greisons dedication. They dedicate their entire lifes to the sacred medicines, they dedicate their lifes to heal people and to heal the world. A part of the revenues is used for land conversation in the Amazon rainforest and for the support of the indigenous community in the western Amazon. The ECA family is not only helping us to understand how we can become a better person, they are the living example how to be a better person and feel gifted by giving. My love and my gratitude are infinite. Aho Mitakuye Oyasin! PS: And the food is sooo good that this would be reason enough to go there! :)

Me and my friend travelled from Australia to take part in our first ayahuasca retreat. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed and safe. Hans and Bobby made sure we had everything we needed and took great care of us throughout the experience. The retreat is in a beautiful location in the mountains and the food was top notch. The ceremonies were very powerful and eye-opening experiences. We felt we were in good hands with both of the healers who facilitated the ceremonies. Overall it was an incredible experience that we wouldn't think twice about doing again.

I took part in the November 2015 retreat (10 days). I had my first Ayahusca experience in 2013 - a retreat just outside Iquitos, Peru. I had an amazing experience, but it did not really cross my mind to do it again until fairly recently when the opportunity arised (work contract ended). I decided to take a few weeks off to go to South America. I wanted to experience an Ayahusca ceremony in Colombia, so after researching, I settled on Eagle Condor Alliance. The location is beautiful- Santa Elena, a quiet rural setting in mountain region, aprox 1 hour from Medellin. The views are honestly breath-taking, the air is clean, and the tap water is drinkable. The accommodation is very comfortable, private room, lovely bed, hot showers, wifi, a communal area to relax, and the food was the best I had during my whole trip in South America. The facilitators - Hans-Peter, Jesse and Bobby were remarkable, I put my full trust in them, I really needed them with me as the ceremonies got very intense, and they were there by my side (I could not have been through it without them). I am truly thankful to them, for their assistance in my every need, their wisdom, brotherhood, friendship and sense of humour. I admit before booking, I was slightly apprehensive about staying in comfortable accommodation, eating well, and being with 'non-native facilitators' (all these details were in contrast to my first retreat in Peru) - but I can honestly say that this only added greatly to my whole experience; the experiences I had during the medicine ceremonies is evident of this. The Yage ceremonies were a lot stronger than I experienced in Peru. I partook in 2 San Pedro Ceremonies, 3 Yage, and 3 sweat lodges - all were unique, and were conducted under the guidance of Gonzalo (Red Road healer), Greison (Yage healer), and our facilitators who are fluent in Spanish and were able to translate for the participants. I thank the healers for their love, guidance, protection, wisdom and knowledge. It was a beautiful experience to sit in the sweat-lodge and finca chanting together in sync, and the chants are one of the greatest souvenirs I have bought back with me. The ceremonies left me with the most profound experience of my life. I did not know where to begin to ask what I wanted from the medicine ceremonies, but I realised in my heart I took away more than my mind could ask for or even comprehend. It can take a lot of hard work and stress to settle on a particular organisation, I can wholeheartedly say, I have found 'my' organisation in the Eagle Condor Alliance, and I have no need to look elsewhere for future ceremonies. I am sure I will be back again... Bless you all, Aho Mitakuye Oyasin!!!

The Eagle Condor Alliance changed my life for the better. I went to two retreats in April and May 2016 and since then I've had a much better understanding of myself, my feelings and emotions, others, and the world around me. I have absolute trust in the retreat facilitators and the shamans, and that trust was vital to getting the most out of the challenging journeys that I went through. The accommodation, food, environment, organisation, and medicines were excellent, as others have already mentioned. I highly recommend this retreat to everybody considering using these medicines for healing.

My experience with ECA has really exceeded my expectations. When I arrived .. I was greeted with open arms and heart... The 3 young men Jesse, Bobby, & Hans I give great credit for .. to see them work, and putting 100% effort with Love and Compassion is really something to be admired. I felt completely safe and just knew I was in the right hands. The accommodations and food was excellent, and just the setting alone was perfect. As for the shamans Greison and Gonzo - they truly are experts in their field - and I actually got more than I expected from La Medicina. My experience and intentions that I set for this retreat were completely met yet La Medicina brought up things in my past that needed healing that I didn't even realize. Feeling grateful. humbled , and rejuvenated by the end of the retreat is an under statement.. I do plan on doing this again with ECA because you all become one - a family - a great feeling. I do recommend not watching any youtube video's because when I did I got the complete wrong impressions from the other retreats... at the ECA it was different..and I'm very happy that I made the right decision. ps Inbetween ceremonies while relaxing- I learned real quick to listen to Bobby Hans and Jessie.. for when they talk maybe not realizing it but I gained much knowledge from them as well. I left the retreat having a greater respect for Mother Nature and all of her elements, taking better care of myself with the right foods and my spiritual growth has sky rocketed. Thank You ECA.. I will be back. Aho

After researching plant medicine retreats across South America, my partner and I came across Eagle Condor Alliance. Everything about it sounded sincere, respectful and incredibly intriguing. And after spending 10 days at the retreat, I can happily say that it offers far more than I had ever expected. The location is unbeatable, as you are fully immersed in all of Mother Nature's green, leafy glory. The accommodation is incredible. I have to say, coming home to a cosy fire, warm herbal tea and a big comfy bed was an absolute godsend after the ceremonies. Taylor and the other chefs cooked the most delicious, nourishing and tasty food you can ever imagine. And what can I say about the facilitators – Bobby, Jesse and Hans. These are three of the most genuine and caring people I have ever met. You can see just how hard they have worked to get this amazing place to where it is now, and I have no doubt that they will continue to do many more wonderful things in the future. They each bring their own unique energy to the centre, and I am eternally grateful for the support that each of them gave me during my stay. The healers are true miracle workers. Gonzalo's energy throughout the San Pedro and Temezcal ceremonies was pure joy. I absolutely loved being immersed in his joyous energy, and I was deeply touched by just how much he loves the sacred land that we call planet earth. The San Pedro ceremonies and Temezcals were the perfect balance to the Aya ceremonies, and I couldn't imagine not doing all three in conjunction with eachother. And as for Greison – wow. A powerful man with a giant heart. This man helped lead me through some of the most profound moments of my life during the Aya ceremonies. I cannot fathom doing the plant medicines anywhere else now, because at ECA every aspect is kept true to the ancient traditions, and you know that you are in safe hands the entire time. I am eternally grateful for what Greison, Gonzalo, Bobby, Jesse and Hans have brought to my life – setting me on the right path to discover inner peace. It may sound cliche, but I really do feel reborn in many ways after my visit to ECA. Each and every person that I shared those 10 days with have become my family, and I am so thankful for having been a part of such a beautiful experience. I cannot wait to return someday. Aho!

If you feel called and/or are curious about these ancestral medicines, and want to go through a spiritual journey with responsible and serious people who have the up most respect for these ancestral ceremonies and open to each individual's growth, then Eagle Condor Alliance is the place to go.

I'm writing this to help people who (like I was) may be worried about going to a strange place and doing something they haven't done before with people they don't know... I REALLY hope this helps you to make the leap and experience what I did with Jesse, Bobby, Hans, Greison & Gonzalo. Few things below for me which really stood out. 1. The website, compared to others out there it was well designed, visually pleasing and packet with interesting information. Then came the call with Hans, other sites make you fill out a form. Call was great, Hans showed a genuine interest about my situation and what had prompted me to consider joining him and the ECA family for retreat. 2. As I don't speak Spanish, to be picked up and dropped off at the retreat was huge, nothing to worry about, just kick back and enjoy the ride, 30min and you are there. 3. The retreat! this place is amazing, perched 1600m above Medellin on a private road no traffic or noise (apart from birds) the fincas look like something out of a fairy tale. Grounds are luxurious, view over the city, trees, flowers everything is designed to make you relaxed and comfortable. My accommodation was a private room with my own bathroom which made the chilling out & recovery after ceremonies easy and enjoyable. 4. The build up. The guys ease you into things, you progressively (in a step by step fashion) start to extricate yourself from the world you left behind. This happens thought many stages such as meeting the guys who will share the ceremonies with you, sharing stories about what bought you there getting to know Hans, Bobby & Jesse (all super cool dudes). Then the pre-ceremonies start all designed to get you into the best possible physical & mental space before the medicine. 5. Ceremonies themselves. I wont go into detail about my own experience as yours will likely be different. What I will say is that they were amazing and 6 months later I still think about some of the things i experienced. With Jesse, Bobby, Hans, Greison & Gonzalo you are in the best hands possible, the guys looked after everyone in what seemed to be the perfect way. It was uncanny at times! 6. Back to basics. I think this was one of the unexpected benefits of the retreat. Eating healthy, water, clean air, lots of sleep and my favorite Abuelo (grandfather fire). Being around the fire in and out of ceremony was something really special, I made the connection in the first san pedro ceremony and it's still with me today. I make a little fire and pray with tobacco in my back yard around once per month and it's super cool! To wrap up, I had an amazing time with the ECA guys and as long as you follow the pre retreat guidance they give you with regards to diet and come with an open mind and heart ready for what the medicine will give you, you will have quite literally the time of your life. May be I'll see you there next time I visit :) Sven

You are in good hands with these guys. I did a 10 day retreat back in March this year. I am not going to go into details about the actual Aya / San Pedro experience witch was amazing. The whole ECA team are incredible you feel the second you meet the guys that they have found their calling in life and genuinely enjoy facilitating these incredible medicines. In regards to the price, yes there are cheaper places available around south america, but i can honestly say that its money well spend. In this case you really get what you pay for. I have done a retreat in Peru previously to this one, and the food, accommodation, medicine was way superior with ECA compared to the other place i tried. Don't be a tight ass when it comes to something like this. I promise you its the best investment of your life! All in all 11/10 to ECA changed my life :)
Natalie Fiore June 22, 2016
To any and all considering the ECA, please know that my life is forever impacted by the care i received from this remarkable community. I participated in their 10 day retreat in March 2016, and I am already booked to return in September 2016. There exists an enveloping atmosphere of love and acceptance, plenty of time to be with yourself in comfort, and compassionate friendship from your hosts when/if you desire it. I was also deeply impressed with the Shamen and their medicines, which helped me to heal and celebrate myself. Please have a thorough look at their website as I found it was an excellent representation of the experience that awaits you. The ECA is worth every penny and moment of travel. Aho!

This was my first time going on a retreat to experience the medicines. I was a bit nervous and didn't know what to expect, but the people at ECA made the entire experience exceed anything I could've imagined. The location up in the mountains above Medellín is absolutely stunning with a breath taking view of the city below. You feel like part of their family after a short amount of time, where the facilitators Jessie, Bobby and Hans makes you feel welcome and safe. They are people with big hearts and beautiful souls that do all they can to help you and guide you through your experience that is ultimately your own. Same thing with the shamans, Gonzalo and Greison. I'm humbled that they invited me to their maloka and shared their medicine with me. They stay true to the medicine and the ancient ceremonies while sharing their wisdom and helping you along the way. I came out of the experience with a new look on life and a will to continue working with the medicines in the future. I strongly recommend them to anyone who wants an intense and profound journey inwards!

I experienced my first Temazcal ceremony in the numinous Santa Elena Mountains with Gonzalo. I was in an emotionally and physically low state, as I had seriously injured my knee a week before, on my second day in Colombia. I was still in pain and was experiencing some strong feelings of fear related to the darkness of the inipi. I even felt afraid to take part in the ceremony, but I was determined to do something to help my knee. I was also aware that there was a good reason why I found myself in this place at this time, so I entered. As soon as they began bringing in the abeulas, the red hot stones, and singing with such joy, my spirits began to lift. I immediately connected to the prayers for spreading awareness of the plight of fresh, pure water in our world today, and I felt enveloped in a protective cocoon, a womb, with room only for pure love inside. I was able to move past the feelings of fear I had been having. I could feel my heart opening to this new strength and clarity of purpose and was able to share songs and a prayer of my own. By the end of the ceremony, my pain was greatly diminished! But what was an even greater relief was how I felt, and continue to feel personally: strong, and calm, with clear intention. This experience planted a seed for the many blessings that have followed. Thank you so much Gonzalo and Hans and Jesse and Bobby for the work you are all doing to share this medicine with the world!

It was my 1st aya experience and the guys made it happened with so much grace... I didn't know anything about!havent watched any Utubes Abt aya....so it was lots of unknown and lots of fear....but the facilitators there are so dedicateted!they pour their hearts out into giving me the innermost experience ...I felt so much trust in them that I could completely surrender to the medicine and to the journey....and it was a beautiful journey ...nurtured by the shaman who always felt my struggles and helped me through ...with ease and grace.

The Eagle Condor Alliance welcomed me upon arrival with the utmost love and respect; right away I knew that I had made a decision to come to a place that would forever change my life in many diverse ways. The ECA healers and facilitators were uniquely capable of guiding my journey and supporting my process day after day. The land in Santa Elena is powerful, magical, and the ceremonial spaces are pristine. The housing situation surpassed any expectations, leaving me entirely blissful between ceremonies in complete comfort and well-nourished with healthy meals. The combination of the various sacred medicines they work with allows an intense cleansing and stabilizing of our energy systems. The spirit of Ayahuasca blessed me with entirely different lessons than those that I encountered through the spirit of San Pedro cactus; they complemented one another wonderfully. Furthermore, the insight that I discovered through tobacco purging and the use of tobacco ceremonially was profound in and of itself. Sweat lodges after a long night of ceremony improved the the quality of my experience dramatically- Another dimension of consciousness comes in. Not to mention mountainside basil/herbal baths! These guys are the most dedicated and sincere retreat group that I have ever encountered. Remember, too, that they are actively working to protect the Amazon rainforest and support indigenous elders. Truly amazing. I am in awe. After attending sacred medicine ceremonies in six different locations so far, I would without a doubt recommend the ECA community above all others. If you are interested in restructuring your paradigm of life, and experiencing sudden, unforgettable revelations and visions of the world which allow you a glimpse of the truth, then I would highly encourage you to trust yourself to heal and transform your suffering at one of their 10-day retreats. I wish you a pleasant journey, and every happiness.

I had the pleasure of finding this beautiful retreat this past spring, tucked away in the Hills west of Medellin it is truly a hidden gem. This was the second time I attended an Ayahuasca retreat (first time was in Peru) and after spending over a week with the ECA family I don't see myself taking sacred medicine anywhere else. Eagle Condor Alliance is not an adventure travel destination where gringos can go do exotic drugs to check off something on their bucket list, this is a place for true healing. The housing is very comfortable and the property is a truly comforting environment ideal for reflection, peace, and rest. I chose to camp outside in the front lawn for a discounted stay and I still felt very comfortable the whole time. I was assured that if the weather turned bad that I would have a place in house on one of the extremely comfy couches. The chefs onsite prepared us some tremendous meals with the freshest ingredients possible. If you're obsessed with eating clean healthy organic meals than you will be in culinary heaven during your stay at ECA. What truly makes this place so special is the sincere efforts of the staff. Hans, Jesse, and Bobby did a tremendous job of making everyone feel very comfortable with not only sleeping accommodations but by explaining the process of the retreat and what to expect from the medicine. In all honesty you'll never know exactly what to expect from the medicine but that is part of the beauty of partaking in these sacred medicinal ceremonies. The guys are also just great to hang around with and shoot the shit if you will (please excuse my french). All three of them come from different western backgrounds, Jesse is an east coast Boston guy, Hans is from California, and Bobby comes from Australia. They are very easy to relate to which I think is super important in these very foreign ancient traditions. That being said they have a tremendous amount of experience in sacred medicinal ceremonies and with South American culture in general. The healers at ECA were a pleasure to work with, I felt very comfortable in the Moloka and I felt I was given proper attention and respect during my healing process. Gonzalo is a follower of the Red Road and is the conductor of the San Pedro ceremonies and the Temazcal (sweatlodge) ceremonies. He is a very caring individual with a wealth of knowledge, a beautiful family that helps him during the ceremonies, and he also has a great sense of humor. Greison is the Ayahuasca (or Yaje is what it is more commonly referred to in Colombia) healer. He is a very focused and intense healer but does not fail to give everyone proper attention during the ceremony. He would walk up to me during my intense sessions with Yaje on my mat and look into my eyes to make sure I was doing alright. When he whips out his harmonica the room fills with love. He has over twenty years experience with the medicine and comes from a very interesting and authentic Amazonian tradition. He is truly a master at is craft and has dedicated his life to understanding the medicine and healing others. When the retreat is over the guys make it very easy to communicate with them if you need any advice or have questions about reintegrating into society. They have kept in contact with everyone at the retreat months after it was over through emails meant to continue to help all of us on our individual journeys. I felt like I made some lifelong friends at this retreat, and I feel like I have three new older brothers down in Colombia in Bobby, Hans, and Jesse to help guide me if I need any direction on my path.
Hyacinth Burrowes June 09, 2016
I attended Eagle Condor Alliance's retreat in May 2016 and I had a beautifully positive and healing experience. I didn't have many expectations, never having experienced any of the sacred medicines prior to this retreat and from the moment I arrived, I knew I was in an ideal environment to do so. The retreat took place high in the Colombian Andes, outside of Medellin, where the everyday temperature was perfect for an afternoon hammock nap and the view lent itself to post ceremony reflections overlooking the valley. Being based in such a natural and beautiful setting aided my journey personally and on several occasions we went on informal group walks down the nearby trail. In addition to the breath-taking setting, it was obvious that the facilitators took care to provide us with the best possible experience during the ceremonies and throughout our stay. To do so meant providing us with delicious and nutrious food, ensuring our mental and physical comfort and being fully present and aware individuals. Who you choose to be surrounded by in these times of expanded consciousness and energetic sensitivity is important. I admire the facilitators not only for their awareness of this fact, but also for the obvious way in which they live with purpose and intention. They are genuine people whose knowledgeable, loving and nonjudgmental spirits serve as guides, role models and confidantes throughout this life changing journey. The healers are equally as beautiful and knowledgeable souls. They have many years of experience with the medicines and have infectious passion for Mother Earth, the elements and their community. The healers have been preparing the medicines for decades and they are as pure as the facilitators and healer's hearts. Comfort can be taken in the fact that ECA never mixes other substances or plants in their medicines. The ceremonies were structured in such a way that I believe I got a thorough, non-rushed introduction to the medicines. The ceremonies were authentic to the traditions in which they come from and the facilitators were there to translate when needed. Any questions or hesitations were addressed prior to ceremonies, the figurative door was always open and we were always given liberty to participate in accordance to our comfort level. I felt extremely comfortable with Eagle Condor Alliance and was able to completely let go because of the trust they fostered. Because of this, I believe I was able to take full advantage of the healing potential of the medicines and truly receive the teachings that were in such abundance that week. The retreat grounds truly felt like home for those 10 days and I left feeling as though I had not only been reunited with myself, but with family. The list of positive things to say about my experience are infinite because each moment spent with Eagle Condor Alliance was filled with light, love, awareness and wisdom. Ultimately, we will undoubtedly have different, individual experiences but I can say with great certainty that if you trust in the Eagle Condor Alliance to guide your journey with the sacred medicines, it will be the curative and refreshing spiritual experience you need.

Meeting Bobby, Jesse, Hans, and the whole Makha Wakan family has definitely been a blessing in my life, and I couldn't be more grateful with myself for living this experience. Their purpose and what they do comes from their hearts, they are true to the medicines and they have real intentions. The ancestral lineage they follow is something that I value highly because it's authentic. For me the journey wasn't easy at all, but these medicines and the way Gonzalo and Greison manage them, left me speechless. They both have so much wisdom, humbleness, and made me felt always protected. Waking up in the forest, drinking mountain water, eating amazing food, feeling the wind and seeing mother nature as a being that is here to help us on our spiritual process was an amazing experience for me. Learning how important it is to live a simple life without attachments, without material needs, and just with our hearts vibrating the most pure and beautiful energy is one of the biggest teachings that was given to me during this journey. When I made this decision I didn't expect to learn all these incredible things, I didn't expect that my inner child was going to grow so much and was going to teach me how to smile and enjoy life in the purest way. I didn´t expect to reconnect to my inner mother, to my whole femininity and the power that I have as a women, as a goddess. So don't hesitate on making the decision to experience something that your soul needs, and don't hesitate on choosing ECA, because they are complete, they have a beautiful energy to share with you, the accommodation and setting is beautiful and comfortable, and Colombia is without a doubt a special place that everyone has to discover.

I did 2 retreats with the ECA in September and October 2015. The following is a review I wrote after the first retreat. 9 months later I continue on my journey that has accelerated after attending the retreats. By continuing the path set out for me from there my intentions have been realized and I continue with many of the practices and ideals I learned while I was with the ECA. They have all stayed with me more than they could ever know :) My experience over the past 10 days at the Eagle Condor Alliance retreat has been one of self-growth, clarity and the beginning of my path of transformation. I am incredibly grateful to have had the courage and opportunity to come here, and to become part of the Eagle Condor family. The mountain side setting is spectacular, refreshing, relaxing and rejuvenating. It is a great place to reconnect to nature and appreciate the beauty of so much life existing in it. The accommodations are comfortable and assist in the healing process that occurs here. The food prepared by Samuel and Alejandro was delicious, nutritive, and prepared with pride and good energy. There certainly was no lack of food and I was well taken care of. The small group size was intimate and allowed for more focused healing from the healers. I cannot say enough about or express the depth of my gratitude towards Hans-Peter, Jesse and Bobby. Firstly that they have chosen to dedicate their lives to the medicines and facilitate in bringing them to western society to help heal. Secondly that they have genuine intentions with the medicines and have chosen to support a path of ancient tradition in an emerging industry where it can be diluted. Moreover, the amount of hard work and support they provide on all levels before, during, and after the retreat to ensure your comfort, healing, and progress on your path is exceptional. The decision to offer the unique mix of different ceremonies here is now obvious to me one of wisdom, and enabled powerful personal experiences to occur that I believe wouldn’t have happened without undergoing all 3 types of ceremonies. Gonzalo, the healer who provides the San Pedro and Temazcal ceremonies, is a man of wisdom, gratitude, and gentleness. His reverence for Mother Nature and all her elements integrated with his ceremonies are impactful and refreshing. Greison, the healer who provides the Yaje ceremonies, is an extraordinary and powerful human being. He originates from an ancient line of elders in the Colombian jungle and embodies their history and tradition. He is a master at what he does and it was an absolute honor to have met him and to have had his guidance in the ceremonies and in my healing. I was excited, nervous, and fearful about undergoing this experience, but I am so grateful I had the courage to take that step forward and that things aligned so that I could take my first steps with ECA. If you want to heal this is the place to come, the family to join.

Such a non-transferable experience as my 10 Day ECA Retreat is difficult to describe, but I now believe that everyone can feel these sacred medicines that connect us to the earth, the universe, the heart, and our own spirits. Having found the family of Makha Wakan and the ECA on my path has been a great blessing. The family is dedicated to love and to the welfare of each person who comes in search of healing. My experience of living with these amazing people for days reminded me that the importance of life lies in simplicity, awareness and love. I feel like I should mention something about the retreat accommodations: 3 gorgeous country homes on two properties that vibrate with good energy and blend with the sounds of the wind and the birds of the forest. All three have stunning views of the Andes and offer very well furnished spaces that are extremely comfortable. That comfort proved crucial to my ability to get the most out of the medicines. I loved knowing that I had a big comfy bed to rest and reflect in after a long night of study by the fire! The meals were thoughtful, colorful and flavorful. Lots of local fruits, vegetables and herbs are mixed together to create dishes that are full of life. I am grateful for having given myself this opportunity to learn about myself and refocus my energy on the parts of life that make it worth living. Andrea GH

As I recently wrote to somebody: "I think about these guys, and try to use you guys as role models all the time." "I found the time with you guys very insightful and introspective, but also being around guys like them very inspiring" "And i appreciate the great powers, for allowing me to see such a beautiful establishment, and continue to thank them everyday" It was an incredible experience, probably one of the best in my life. It wasn't always easy, but it's not supposed to be. Thank you Bobby, Hans, and Jesse. You guys will forever hold a special spot in my heart. Aho. -Tom

Like most retreat centers, Eagle Condor Alliance (ECA) offers comfortable accommodations and delicious food within a beautiful, peaceful setting, but what sets ECA apart is their approach to the medicines and how this is reflected in how the facilitators and healers live their lives. In my search for a retreat center, I was wary of places that did not approach the medicines with respect and humility; a place where the traditions were not taken seriously or completely disregarded; a place who took anyone who simply registered despite his/her motivations to participate. I am grateful for my time at ECA not only because of my experiences with the medicines, but because everyone involved (facilitators, healers, and the community of people surrounding them) conducted themselves with integrity and dedication to the healing power of the plants within the context of a traditional ceremony.

I was interested in doing a yagé retreat and found Eagle Condor's website online. I read great reviews of their 10-day retreats online and was drawn to the idea of combining Amazonian traditions with those of the North. And I wasn't disappointed. The retreat center is a beautiful wonderland up in Santa Elena overlooking the city of Medellín, everything was well coordinated and very comfortable. The lodging and food and logistics were all taken care of and top notch. The three organizers -- Jesse, Hans and Bobby -- are all great guys, and a lot of fun, but moreover, they're very committed to these traditions and provide a helpful link (not just as interpreters) to understanding the traditions. I was also impressed by their willingness to speak openly about their own journeys and challenges -- you really are made to feel that you are their peers in this journey, there's no hierarchy here. The two shamans -- Greison and Gonzalo -- are equally approachable and caring, and clearly committed to these traditions. I found Greison in particular to be a powerful and loving presence, and I very much look forward to sharing in a ceremony with him again. On top of all this, I would add that the environment felt very safe. The organizers were attentive and skilled at dealing with emotional and physical issues, and for first timers, it's nice to know that you are close to medical facilities -- though of course, nothing of the sort ever seemed necessary during the retreat. Lastly, as someone who's dabbled in different spiritual traditions and retreats, I very much appreciated and was humbled by the Eagle Condor Alliance's commitment to preservation and their use of a portion of the funds to protect swaths of the Amazon where the yagé culture and traditions are in danger.

I was welcomed, looked after, and sent off feeling hesitant to leave. The guys at ECA really put a lot of love into their work and make sure every person is guided in the right way. I will absolutely return and hope share with as many people as I can. It is a life long process and I hope they can introduce it to the peel that need it the most. Aho
