The worst “retreat” I’ve ever been to.
From booking to finish this is hands down the worst, most unprofessional retreat I’ve ever been to.
It started with payments. The pay advertised is $1271 but they will trick you into paying more. Dan will demand you to pay in euro which is far more USD than advertised. I paid an extra $100 because of the currency translation . Then on top of that he tried to get ANOTHER $50 from me saying PayPal took the money. You’ll have to pay a total of $1450 for the shittiest room there.
The energy is very chaotic as well. Idk if he needs more experience or what the problem is but Dan isn’t professional in the least. He has no communication skills… how can u lead 10 adults for 8 days if you can’t communicate properly?
Every problem within the group would’ve been solved if he communicated rules properly. And even when I told him what to say, gave him a script and he agreed to say it… he never did.
Idk if it’s all the weed he smokes but he really doesn’t remember much. He forgets to bring, do & say things so often it’s frustrating! do I, the student, have to remind the teacher about every little thing?
The biggest problem there, though is he refused to give me my certificate. On the first day he announced that if you didn’t feel comfortable doing something you don’t have to; he won’t force you.
Well, on day 5/6 we have to stick our fingers deep into someone’s ribs and abdomen and literally massage inside the e stomach. I felt like I’d vomit if I did that (one girl actually did!) so I asked if I could sit out of it. He said ok that it was fine to skip it… then on the last day tells me that due to skipping it I can’t get my certificate because lack of hours!
This is what I mean by horrible communication! Why tell me it’s fine to skip it just to turn around and say it ISN’T fine!? If I had known in advance that would be the case things would’ve been different!
And to make matters worst he didn’t tell me that til the last day. If he had told me “hey u skipped this and can’t get a certificate “ I would’ve happily went home since I live in tulum and it’s a 30 minute drive from my condo. Why have me waste my time there just to disappoint me on the last day? (Another example of horrible communication) Is it so I don’t ask for a partial refund towards the days I leave? I don’t doubt it.
There’s so many other things I could mention like the 8 scorpions I saw there (literally two the first hour of the group opening). The fact Dan picks his nose so deep then uses the same hand to touch ppls face and skin. And soooo much more… but those type of things are petty. I hope the major issues I have convince you to go somewhere else. There are better teachers and trainings out there by actual professionals. Learn from my mistake!
