Directions

To first reach Indira Gandhi International Terminal in New Delhi which serves as a convenient entry point with incoming flights from every country. After a suggested single day rest in Delhi, proceed to Prayagraj: By Air: The nearest airport to the retreat location of Prayagraj, India, is Bamrauli Airport (IXD). It is a domestic airport located in Allahabad (now officially known as Prayagraj), approximately 12 kilometers southwest of the city center. Alternatively, travelers can also consider arriving at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (VNS), also known as Varanasi Airport, located in Varanasi, which is about 120 kilometers from Prayagraj. By Road: The most common route is via National Highway 19 (NH19) or the Yamuna Expressway, which connects Delhi to Agra, and then continue on NH19 towards Prayagraj. The distance between New Delhi and Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad) by road is approximately 635 kilometers via the NH19 route and it takes around 12 to 15 hours to drive from New Delhi to Prayagraj by car. Plan regular rest stops along the way to stretch your legs, refuel, and take breaks. Rest areas, roadside eateries, and petrol pumps are common places to stop for refreshments and rest. You may also take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the scenic landscapes, and cultural attractions, such as visiting Mathura which is known as the birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Krishan as well as the neighboring town of Vrindavan which is another sacred town associated with the life of Bhagwan Shri Krishan and lastly Agra: which is renowned for the iconic Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. By Train: You can check the availability of trains and book tickets online through the Indian Railways website (https://www.irctc.co.in/). There are several trains that operate between New Delhi and Prayagraj, including both express and superfast trains. Look for a train that fits your schedule and preferences in terms of travel time, class of travel, and amenities offered. Once you’ve selected a train, proceed to book your ticket through the Indian Railways website. Make sure to provide accurate passenger information and choose your preferred class of travel (e.g., Sleeper Class, AC Class). On the day of your journey, arrive at New Delhi Railway Station well in advance of your train’s departure time. It’s advisable to reach the station at least 30-45 minutes before the scheduled departure to allow time for security checks and boarding.
