About This Center

We are experiencing a global regeneration renaissance.

BlackLlama Enchantivists are innovator artists - positive mavericks who use philosophy, psychology and the humane arts to cultivate leadership.

Enchantivism = Enchantment + Activism

We are creators with purpose who speak in the language of philosophical poetry, mythology and folklore, creative play, expressive art therapy, storytelling, humour, science fiction, music, romantic ideals, and participatory creative performances.

We contribute to pioneering new models of leadership. Our vision is to breathe life into cliches of leadership and cultural development.

Our mission is to empower team human to rewild and nourish human imagination and eco-self-sovereign living as essential practical wisdom technologies.

This will empower people to build capacity for systems self-actualization while restoring the world’s ecosystems.

Our goal is to share the leadership philosophies and practices of positive mavericks, design and build communities of practices that build capacity for eco-system self-actualization, and apply the art of enchantivism to inspire action for personal agency and lifestyle change.

“If the teacher is indeed wise he does not bid you enter the house of his wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind.” Kahlil Gibran.

Our philosophy: “You can’t go around building a better world for people. Only people can build a better world for people. Otherwise it’s just a cage.” – (Terry Pratchett, Witches Abroad)

Venue Highlights

We host retreats in Lima (ocean therapy and surfing) and Pisaq, Peru, as well as Mexico, Vancouver and South Africa.

With a focus on eco-therapy, creative movement and myth making, our guided activities often take place outdoors, at art centres and co-working/entrepreneurial spaces.

Retreats vary from one day to 10 day intensives. Our 10 day enchantivist intensives take place in Pisaq and Sacred Valley, Peru.

During our annual retreat in Pisaq, Peru, our main accommodation is the Bamboo Lodge, which is a 20 minute walk away from the Pisaq marketplace.

Next to a river, decorated with simple Quero art and textiles, this is a perfect haven for private time, as well as nature connection.

Clients appreciate that it is more secluded, yet luxurious with hot baths, good breakfast and friendly supportive team.

Our formal retreat activities take place in our small retreat centre which is a short walking distance from Bamboo Lodge.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I am an oncology nurse and a few long time patients have died recently. I need to rejuvenate and return to my breath! Elizabeth
