About Hamakua Sanctuary
Hamakua Sanctuary
Mission & Vision
The Hāmākua Initiative exists to support people in restoring relationship with the Earth, their nervous systems, and one another through lived community and land-based practice. We offer a residency where daily life itself becomes the teacher—simple, participatory, and rooted in care.
Our vision is a world where people:
Live in reverence with the land rather than separation from it
Practice reciprocity through contribution and shared responsibility
Experience true belonging within small, intentional communities
Integrate wisdom through daily life, not abstract instruction
Carry grounded, regenerative values back into their homes and work
