About this Retreat
Chi is a life-transformation mentor with 25+ years of direct experience guiding people through the process of knowing themselves.
His work is not based on a specific method. It is based on presence and direct observation. He doesn't bring a system into the room. He brings attention — clear, unfiltered, and completely focused on what is actually happening in you right now.
What he has developed over decades of working with his own mind and with others is a rare capacity: to listen to what a person says, to see what they cannot see in themselves, and to name it simply and directly. Not as advice, but as a reflection. You recognize it immediately because it is true, and because some part of you already knew it.
Chi works across the full spectrum: body, emotion, mind, and the belief system that holds all of it in place. He follows whatever is present and goes directly to its root.
What he offers is not inspiration. It is contact with reality as it is, a recognition. For most people who have worked with him, that turns out to be the thing that finally moves what nothing else could.
In this retreat, Chi works with you every day through a short, focused one-on-one session. If you want to go deeper, a full one-hour energy and mentoring session is available at extra cost. Your sessions are recorded. By the time you leave, you will have a personalized action plan built from what came up across the 10 days, a clear foundation for continuing the work when you return to your life, and all your session recordings to go back to for later self-reflection.
Details of this retreat
When was the last time you paused long enough to hear what’s actually going on inside?
This is a month living inside The Essence, a conscious community built to give you back the space ordinary life takes from you: room to breathe without rushing, to sit with yourself without distraction, to remember what actually matters.
THE PROGRAM
Your normal life is built to keep the current version of you in place. A short break doesn’t touch that. Thirty days, in different conditions, can.
The Essence Community calls this practice "Awakening Awareness": the muscle of watching your reactions, beliefs, and patterns surface in real time. Thirty days is long enough to live it, not just practice it. Morning practice, teaching, rest, evening practice, Satsang. No days off from yourself.
Welcome to The Human Greenhouse — we build the conditions, you do the growing, and Chi is here to make sure you can’t hide from either: to challenge your mind, trigger what you avoid, question what you’re certain of, and push you past the point where you’d stop on your own.
It won’t be comfortable. It isn’t supposed to be. And if thirty days isn’t enough, staying on as part of the community is a door, not an exit.
A Month in the Rhythm:
You arrive, and the rhythm is already moving — you're stepping into a day that was happening before you got here and will keep happening after you leave. That's deliberate: you're watching real life at The Essence.
Practice at The Essence isn't about achieving a state or learning a technique. It's the ongoing act of noticing what's actually happening — in your mind, your body, the space around you — instead of running on the automatic patterns most people live inside without questioning.
This is a month of living differently — inside a real community, with real people, doing real work — and what becomes possible when thirty days give a pattern enough time to actually shift.
The first days are for observing and settling into the rhythm.
Who This Is For:
Maybe you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or like you're at a breaking point. Maybe you don't know who you are anymore, or what you're here for. Maybe you're simply craving space to heal, reflect, and reset. However it shows up for you, here's the honest version — who this is for, and who it isn't.
Come, if —
It is time for something real, not just a break
You're ready to show up to a daily structure that will challenge you
You can genuinely step away from work and family for thirty days
You are done with short breaks that don't change anything — you want depth, not novelty
You are willing to step out of your comfort zone, question your beliefs, and commit to the process
You're ready to give two hours a day in Seva — service to the community — as part of the fixed structure, and are welcome to go deeper if you choose
You're looking for a space to go deeper into yourself over the long term, and for a community, not just a program
Something in you already knows it's time
Not yet, if —
You are in acute mental health crisis
You need to be reachable for work or family every day
You're not willing to give two hours a day in service to the community — that part isn't optional here
You're hoping to stay on your phone throughout the day — that's not this rhythm
You're hoping for a teacher to fix you — that isn't what happens here
You mainly want to escape your life for a while, not actually change it
You need to stay in control of your time, space, and routine, and aren't ready to let the structure hold you
What makes this program special
Most programs teach you something. This one works differently. It removes what's in the way.
There are things in you that you cannot see alone. Because the mind, left to itself, will always find a way to protect what it knows. Real change requires someone outside that system entirely - someone who can see clearly what you are too close to see yourself.
What makes this genuinely different is Chi's direct presence throughout your stay, held inside real community life. He won't go easy on you — he's direct, he challenges what you're most certain of, and he brings you to edges you'd never reach alone, while walking every step of it beside you.
You'll have a dedicated one-hour private session with him once per week and day-to-day access whenever a question, challenge, or doubt comes up. What he offers isn't advice — it's a direct mirror for what you're too close to see yourself: your justifications, your blind spots, the way you see yourself and others. Most people go years without being looked at that closely. Here, that's the whole point.
This process won’t fade when you get home, because you can't unsee what you've seen. Thirty days is long enough that the rhythm does what a short break can't: it outlasts your usual defences.
Daily structure
The daily structure is consistent and intentional. There is no free scheduling, no optional sessions. The container is held.
Practices included:
Stillness meditation using breath, body, and mind awareness
Self-inquiry methods
Daily talks on self-awareness
Daily Qigong
Awakened body movement: pranayama, energy-centered movement, or yoga, selected based on group and individual capacity
Teachings on the nature of the mind
Seva
Mornings open the same way they do for everyone here: stillness meditation at dawn, a teaching from Chi, movement to wake the body, breakfast together. From there, the day opens up — open community time, a shared juice and lunch, siesta, evening Qigong, Satsang to close the day.
Arrival: Please plan to arrive by 14:00 on your start day. You're welcome from 11:00 to settle in before the program begins. If a 14:00 arrival isn't possible for any reason, please arrive the evening before and stay in the area — there are good options nearby. Arriving rested and on time is part of entering this properly.
Departure: The program closes on the morning of day 30 at 10:00. After the final practice, there is a shared breakfast together before you leave.
Retreat benefits:
Time-tested resilience — thirty days is long enough to outlast your usual defenses, not just interrupt them
Direct confrontation with patterns that a short break doesn't have time to surface
A daily rhythm you can feel the shape of, rather than a list of activities
Ongoing support after you leave, through monthly calls with Chi for three months
Community experience — living, serving, and practicing alongside others doing the same work, with the option to go deeper beyond the daily Seva
A firsthand experience of a different way of living, and a real sense of whether it's aligned with you before you commit further
