About this Retreat

Your Guides

Details of this retreat

What if you could see your life with fresh eyes?

You make the same choices. Have the same reactions. Return to the same thoughts.

You know something needs to change, yet something keeps pulling you back. This four-day retreat gives you the space to finally shift: to put down your phone, slow down, and step outside your usual patterns. Through guided sessions with Chi, movement, meditation, breath, reflection, and practices to explore on your own, you'll begin to notice what is shaping the way you experience your life.

You'll explore where your attention goes, what you keep reinforcing, and how your experience changes when you meet what is here with more openness and less resistance.

When you see the pattern clearly, a different response becomes possible.

From there, you can begin to meet familiar situations differently, make choices with greater awareness, and discover how to move forward and make a real shift.

You'll leave with a fresh perspective, greater clarity, meaningful realizations, and practical ways to bring what you've discovered into your everyday life.

Four days to step back. See clearly. And return differently.

The Retreat Experience

You arrive at The Essence and step out of the rhythm you've been carrying with you.

For four days you look honestly at what has been running your life. Your thoughts, reactions, energy, habits and relationships all come into view, along with the choices underneath them.

A few days away from your usual environment can open up a different way of seeing yourself and your life.

The experience is an opportunity to question what you take for granted, explore what truly matters to you, and discover how you relate to the world around you. Through a mix of guided exploration, shared experiences, and personal practice, you’ll have space to look beyond familiar patterns and discover new possibilities.

The retreat brings attention to the things that often go unnoticed in everyday life: how you relate to others, where you find your sense of happiness, what gives you energy, and what gets in the way of living as you would like to live.

Rather than offering ready-made answers, the intention is to help you discover through your own experience. To become more open and aware of the choices available to you.

You’ll have the space to explore, experiment, and take something meaningful back into your life.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Come if:

You feel ready for a change or a new chapter
You recognize patterns in your life that you keep repeating
You want to understand yourself more clearly
You want to change the way you relate to yourself or others
You feel that too much of your energy is going into worry, distraction, resistance, or old habits
You want practical tools rather than another collection of ideas
You're willing to look honestly at yourself
You don't need to have everything figured out you just know something needs to shift

No prior meditation or self-work experience is required.

Full Program

The daily structure is consistent and intentional. There is no free scheduling, no optional sessions. The container is held.

Day 1 Step Out & See

Create distance from your usual routine and begin seeing where you are now: what isn't working, what keeps repeating, and what brought you here.

Day 2 Meet What Is

Slow down and learn to meet the present moment as it is, rather than through old experiences, expectations, or projections. Begin noticing how your attention shapes what you experience.

Day 3 See What’s Possible

Look at the situations where you feel stuck and explore the choices, possibilities, and opportunities that become visible when you change the way you look at them.

Day 4 Choose & Move

Turn what you've discovered into something practical. Get clear on what you want to change, break it into manageable steps, and create a way to bring your new perspective into everyday life.

The overall journey:

Step out → See clearly → Discover possibility → Move forward

Arrival is between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

Departure is at 10:00 AM after breakfast.

By the end of the retreat, you will have:

Greater awareness of the stories and patterns shaping your experience
A clearer understanding of where your energy is going
Practical ways to return to your body and the present moment
New perspective on recurring patterns
A clearer sense of what you want your next chapter to look like
One or more small practices you can continue at home
A more conscious relationship with your attention, energy, and choices
The point isn't to leave with a completely transformed life.

It's to leave seeing your life differently enough that you can begin changing it.

Getting Here

Directions

--Getting to The Essence--
The retreat is located in Macario Gómez, a small town on the edge of the jungle outside Tulum, Mexico.
The closest airport is Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport — also known as Tulum International Airport (TQO) — in Tulum, Mexico, approximately one hour by car. Cancún International Airport (CUN) in Cancún, Mexico is one hour and fifty minutes away and offers significantly more international flight connections. For most guests, Cancún will be the practical choice.

--Arrival--
Please plan to arrive by 2:00 PM on your start day. You're welcome from 11:00 AM to settle in before the program begins. If a 2:00 PM arrival isn't possible for any reason, please arrive the evening before and stay in the area — there are good options nearby. Arriving rested and on time is part of entering this properly.

--From the Airport--
The most straightforward option is a private taxi transfer booked in advance. We recommend airportstaxitransfers.com — they use Google Maps and will get you directly to our door without hassle. Simply enter your destination as The Essence Community & Retreat Center and you're set.
If you arrange your own driver, use that same exact name when sharing the location, and make sure it's saved on your phone before you go. Not all drivers use Google Maps, and we've had guests end up at the wrong location when the address wasn't precise. The exact name is what gets you here reliably.
If budget is a consideration, take an ADO bus from Cancún Airport (CUN) or Tulum Airport (TQO) to Tulum center, then a short taxi or colectivo to Macario Gómez.

--Before You Leave Home--
Activate mobile data before you travel. You'll want to be reachable during the journey, and reliable Wi-Fi on the road isn't guaranteed. Straightforward to sort in advance — don't leave it for the airport.
