Paulina Zamudio was born and raised in Mexico City and moved to Texas in 1998. She discovered yoga in 2004, initially exploring Vinyasa, Hatha, and Bikram yoga, with her early formal training rooted in Hatha yoga. Over time, her curiosity and dedication led her to deepen her practice and understanding of yoga beyond physical movement.
In 2013, Paulina began practicing Ashtanga yoga and immediately found a profound connection to the discipline, structure, and depth of the method. What began as a personal exploration soon became her primary practice and lifelong path. She completed her Ashtanga training under the guidance of her teacher, partner, and dear friend, Ana Hollis, at Yoga Shala.
Since then, Paulina has continued to study extensively, attending intensives and workshops with some of the most respected teachers in the Ashtanga community, including Tim Miller, Kino McGregor, Tim Feldmann, Eddie Stern, David Swenson, Taylor Hunt, and others.
In 2018, Paulina traveled to India for the first time to study during the Ashtanga Yoga Yatra in Rishikesh, practicing with Sharath Jois, Eddie Stern, and Robert Moses. This experience deepened her commitment to the traditional lineage of Ashtanga yoga.
Her journey continued in Mysore, India, where she studied under the guidance of Sharath Jois in 2022, immersing herself in daily Mysore-style practice, philosophy, chanting, and Sanskrit studies with Lakshmisha. This time in Mysore was a transformative and life-changing experience. Paulina returned to Mysore in 2023 and again in 2025, where she received the blessing and authorization to teach Ashtanga yoga.
Paulina is deeply grateful for the unwavering support of her family throughout her journey—especially her husband, Alex, whose encouragement continually inspires her, and her children, who remind her daily that yoga is a practice that extends far beyond the mat.
She feels honored to teach and share the richness of this practice with others, guiding students with humility, respect for tradition, and genuine care.
“Yoga is a light which, once lit, will never dim. The more you practice, the brighter it shines.”
