Details of this retreat

Reconnect with the Soil, Reclaim Your Rhythm, and Lead for the Future.

In the heart of the Aegean, where the ancient winds of Manisa meet the rustle of new olive and walnut trees, lies Taspinar Farm. This is not just a destination; it is the home of the Huzur Adası Yaşam Okulu (Peace Island Life School)—a project dedicated to healing the earth and the human spirit through the intersection of traditional crafts, regenerative farming, and conscious leadership.

From June 1 to June 10, 2026, we invite you to step away from the digital noise and immerse yourself in a 9-day journey of "Slow Living." Here, success isn't measured by productivity, but by the depth of your presence and the health of the land you tend.

Why This Retreat?
The modern world often leaves us feeling disconnected—from our food, our communities, and our own inner compass. This retreat is designed for the seekers, the leaders, and the dreamers who believe that Social Change begins with a return to the basics. By mastering the "Old World" skills of our ancestors, we find the grounding necessary to lead with clarity and purpose in the "New World."

What to Expect: The Four Pillars of the Life School
1. Artisanal Alchemy & Traditional Crafts
You won't just observe; you will create. Master the sacred chemistry of fermentation as we make sourdough, artisanal cheese, and traditional tarhana. Sit at the loom and learn the meditative art of wool rug weaving—a practice of patience that mirrors the building of a sustainable life.

2. Regenerative Leadership & Earth Stewardship
True leadership is guardianship. Participants will engage directly with the farm’s ecosystem—tending to our goats, and cows, and chickens. You will leave with a deep understanding of what it means to be a "steward" of both a project and a planet.

3. The "Huzur" Ritual: Community & Integration
Every evening, we gather for the "Huzur" ritual. In these sharing circles, we move beyond small talk to discuss personal growth and social impact. These sessions are designed to help you integrate the lessons of the soil into your personal and professional leadership style.

4. Elemental Grounding & Nature Connection
Aligned with the June harvest light, our days follow the rhythm of the sun. Through "Forest Bathing" under the olive and walnut trees and conscious "Nefes" (breathwork) sessions during our hikes, you will recalibrate your nervous system and rediscover the peace (Huzur) of silence.

Directions

Our retreat is nestled in a traditional agricultural town in Western Turkey (Manisa/Kırkağaç), strategically located between the cultural hubs of İzmir and Balıkesir. While we are tucked away from the city noise, reaching our sanctuary is a straightforward and scenic journey.

Nearest International Airport: İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) is the most convenient gateway. It hosts numerous international flights and frequent domestic connections from Istanbul.

Recommended Connections from İzmir:

By Intercity Bus (Easiest): From İzmir Airport, take the 'HAVAŞ' shuttle or the 'İZBAN' train to the main bus terminal (İzmir Otogar). From there, take a direct bus to Kırkağaç or Akhisar (buses depart almost every hour).

By Train: For a nostalgic and scenic journey, you can take the train from İzmir (Basmane Station) towards Balıkesir/Bandırma and get off at the Kırkağaç or Akhisar station.

Local Assistance:
Once you arrive at the Kırkağaçor Akhisar bus station, we provide a complimentary pick-up to bring you the final few kilometers to the farm.

Private Transfer:
Upon request, we can help arrange a private car transfer directly from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport to the farm for an additional fee.

Accommodation

At our sanctuary, we believe that where you sleep should be as natural as where you walk. We offer a blend of traditional Anatolian architecture and rustic simplicity to ensure a deep, restful connection with the environment. Rustic Simplicity & Comfort: Our rooms are designed with a 'minimalist-natural' approach—think hand-woven rugs, wooden accents, and comfortable bedding. It is a space designed for 'digital detox,' allowing the sounds of nature to be your soundtrack. Communal & Private Options: We offer cozy private rooms for individuals or couples, as well as shared spaces for those who wish to embrace the communal spirit of our farm family. The Garden Campsite: For those who wish to be even closer to nature, we offer dedicated spots for camping beneath our majestic pine and walnut trees, where you can wake up to the gentle sounds of our goats and birds. Shared Sustainable Amenities: Our kitchen and bathroom facilities are communal, fostering a sense of togetherness and shared responsibility. We use eco-friendly practices to keep our footprint on the land minimal. Outdoor Living Areas: Beyond your room, the entire farm is your living room. You are welcome to relax in our hammocks, find a quiet corner for meditation under the trees, or gather around the fire pit for evening conversations.
