Details of this retreat
Most men are doing a lot right. Work is moving, responsibilities are handled, people rely on you, and from the outside things look solid. The problem is that success does not automatically create a life is meaningful and fulfilling. It also does not guarantee you feel alive lot of meaning or purpose in what you do. Truth? A lot of men are quietly lonely, unfulfilled, and wanting to feel more alive. Life has become all output with little left in the tank.
Men’s Weekend at The Oaks is a practical life planning retreat designed for you to step out of the noise, examine what is driving your decisions, and get clear on who you want to be in the next season. Over the weekend, you will look honestly at your patterns under pressure, the trade offs you are making with your time and energy, and what keeps getting postponed.
A highlight of the weekend is a special session with Bob Goff. Bob has a rare way of helping people tell the truth about the life they are building, without shame and without hype. His session will be focused on courage, purpose, and living in a way that feels clean and meaningful, not just busy and productive.
There will be plenty of time outdoors, great food, play, free time, activities and real conversation. If you want a weekend that helps you get clear on what is driving your life, what needs to change, and what you want to build next, this is for you. Leave with a plan you can implement, a simpler sense of direction, and a stronger connection to the life you want to be proud of.
Optional Workshops and Sessions
Friday Evening: Welcome and FocusWe start by slowing down from the pace you just came from. This first session is about getting out of drive mode and actually arriving for the weekend. You will step away from noise, distractions, and expectations, and take an honest look at where you are right now. We will name what you want from the weekend, what feels unfinished or pressing, and what would make this time worthwhile. This session sets a clear baseline and gives you a solid starting point for the work ahead.
Saturday Morning: A Special Session with Bob GoffBob often says, “I used to be afraid of failing at something that really mattered to me, but now I'm more afraid of succeeding at things that don't matter.”
Every life is built on trade offs. This session takes a practical look at how your time, energy, and attention are being spent, and what those choices are producing. We will examine where life is working, where it is costing too much, and which patterns are no longer worth their price.
Saturday Evening: What drives behavior and change
This session focuses on identifying the forces beneath your habits and choices. Pressure, ambition, responsibility, fear, approval seeking, and restlessness all shape how men operate, often without conscious awareness. When these drivers go unnamed, they quietly run the show. Using brain and nervous system science, we will explore value based living by getting underneath behavior to the root of why we do what we do and by practicing how to make choices from a more grounded and intentional foundation rather than reactivity or momentum.
Session Four: The Plan I Am Taking HomeThis closing session helps you translate clarity into a realistic and sustainable plan. Rather than trying to change everything at once, you will leave with clear priorities, practical next steps, and a renewed sense of direction you can carry back into daily life. Sometimes the most meaningful outcome is a deeper sense of what feels true and alive. That kind of clarity has a way of shaping decisions naturally over time without forcing change so you can return to your life more awake, more honest, and more present.

From HWY 78, look for the large blue and gold GOLDEN EAGLE FARM SIGN and two tall Cyprus trees on your left. Once you arrive to The Oaks gate, continue to the top of the circle drive to unload your belongings and then promptly drive back down to the first parking lot on your left. If that parking lot is full, please continue down the end of the driveway and park in the lot on your right.
Please follow event details for specific check in procedures.
If the gate is locked, please wait in the parking lot outside the gate or call The Oaks main line.

I just returned from Family Weekend at The Oaks with my two teenage girls. We all loved it! The staff was engaging, attentive, fun and kind. The facilities were updated and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. The weekend was full of family, time, growth and fun... and no screen time! We will definitely be back next year!

Attention to Detail with all the personal touches
Wow. What a spot. The Oaks has everything you need to rest and make a memory or two. Instagram-worthy decor - imagine if Joanna Gaines remodeled a youth camp - makes this place cozy and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and kind and learned everyone's name the first day. The food was on the level of any resort you could go to. And the pool - let's just say that you HAVE to do the slide and high dive. I'd say more but let's do our best to keep this gem of southern California a secret.

A wonderful escape to slow down and focus on one's self
I registered for a weekend retreat, and was rewarded with a place to rest, find some clarity (and tools to use for later), make connections with others, and relax. The weekend had emotionally challenging conversations and workshops, as well as time for fun. I would like to go back again, and make The Oaks part of a regular rhythm of my life. You have to show up, and make the space to do the emotional, and spiritual work. You will get out what you put into the program. The food was delicious- in a way that you were not stuffed and, never left feeling hungry, to be fueled for the day. I am sure that the menu was intentionally designed to provide you a healthy foundation for the weekend. The property is gorgeous. I often just laid under the oaks to read and reflect, and enjoyed sitting on the deck, in a rocking chair, connecting with others.

Amazing grounds, staff and food!
Loved everything about The Oaks! The room was lovely, very clean and well furnished. I stayed in the Kendall building. The food was EXCELLENT and was able to accommodate for my gluten-free and dairy-free food options. The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful, esp with the golf carts bringing you back and forth to your car and helping with the bags. The atmosphere was very relaxed and peaceful. My favorite part was the trail riding and also the hike to the water tower to watch the sunset. Highly recommend for a solitary retreat or group retreat or any other type of retreat event!
My only advice would be to allow extra time to get there- depending on where you are driving from. I drove from the Orange County area and it took over 3 hours to get there on a Friday afternoon (left at 2pm and got there around 530pm). On the way home- late Sunday afternoon- it only took an hour and half to get back (no traffic).

Absolutely Fantastic
This was my second time at a Flagship Retreat at The Oaks.
The property is well appointed, comfortable, and not at all cluttered.
The staff is delightful and very hospitable. I felt right at home the moment I arrived and all throughout the weekend.
The pace of the Flagship Retreat is spot on. They have truly crafted all of the right elements for a thoughtful, restful, and very fun retreat.
