Lovely retreat but lacking advanced yoga
Beautiful rooms, vegetarian food, ethos and community. Amazing value for money. Stayed here for a week and there wasnt one advanced yoga class, virtually all gentle classes. Love this place still but have to give 3 stars for the lack of harder yoga classes.

Feeling revived
Krishna Village is in a beautiful rural setting. Highlights were the ‘happy cows ‘and making connections with people from all over, who were warm, open hearted and seeking a deeper consciousness. And of course the glorious vegetarian food.
We stayed in the village cottages. These are simple and seem quite new and have a lovely timber finish. Very comfortable bed. I really liked the rustic but comfortable accommodation. However we visited mid summer and they did provide two fans, but even for this FNQ girl the rooms were HOT . Tin roof, so soaks up all the heat and radiates it back. The inside would be hotter than out in the afternoons. Ok if you’re happy to be out of the room most of the day. Fortunately i love a creek swim and there is a great swimming spot nearby so that how I managed in the heat wave. And evening was very comfortable temp, so could still sleep at night. In the longer term a little corridor of trees around the cabins would probably mitigate that heat. And Other times of year it would be fine.
Just other thoughts. Would be great to have kettle in room as communal kitchen is quite a hike. And to have some lavatories closer to yoga hall.
We were there at a busy time and The village was quite lively with visitors coming and going. Not much observation of suggested silent periods in morning and evening.
So If you wanting more of a monastic quiet vibe this may not suit. Or go at a quiet time of year perhaps. Some of the yoga classes and activities were great. Some were just ok.mostly related to variable levels of experience of teachers. It’s exceptional value and I really love that the Hare Krishna community offer an accessible budget friendly opportunity for retreat and welcome all people to have a taste of this lifestyle.
