En tiempos de incertidumbre, la claridad y la compasión no son lujos, sino capacidades esenciales que podemos entrenar.
Este retiro de fin de semana ofrece una oportunidad para hacer una pausa, reflexionar y reconectar con la estabilidad interior, la fortaleza y la calidez que siempre están disponibles en nosotros. Guiados por enseñanzas budistas, exploraremos cómo el miedo, la confusión y los desafíos personales no son barreras inamovibles, sino puertas a través de las cuales podemos enfrentar nuestras confusiones y temores.
A través de la meditación, el estudio, la reflexión y la experiencia compartida, consideraremos cómo la práctica puede apoyar una forma más compasiva y equilibrada de relacionarnos con nuestras vidas, relaciones, comunidades y más allá.
Abordaremos algunos elementos clave de este camino: los obstáculos comunes para convertirnos en verdaderos amigos de nosotros mismos (maitri), la apertura a una compasión genuina (karuna) y las seis perfecciones (paramitas), que siempre han sido parte de nuestra naturaleza. Desde esta base, comenzaremos a explorar la perspectiva Mahayana, donde la conciencia se profundiza en compasión y en la aspiración de beneficiar a los demás.
Este retiro se ofrecerá en inglés con interpretación consecutiva al español.

Estancia de la Era is a lovely inn only half a block away that gives our guests a special nightly rate when reserved and paid through Casa Werma. This is a large private room with a King Size bed and a sofa bed, offset from the street with a beautiful view, ensuite two baths and fireplace. Hotel Estancia de La Era is located in the heart of Pátzcuaro, one of the most magical places in Mexico, surrounded by lush, natural scenery and a 16th Century colonial architecture. The balance between the city and nature provides the perfect setting for a peaceful relaxation. Your stay includes wonderful amenities while you enjoy the magic of this historic place. ***  Please do not make reservations with these hotels on your own. Participants have lost their reservation when they have done this as it’s difficult for the hotel and Casa Werma to keep track of who’s reserved separately and who’s reserved through us. We have the cozy Leoncita bedroom with a matrimonial/full-size bed tucked behind the kitchen with access to a semi-public bathroom in the corridor of the Casa Grande.

Camping in the Garden

Accommodation
You can camp at Casa Werma, in the various acres of garden. We request you bring your own tent and sleeping bag.  We can provide a towel and extra blankets.  Nights in Patzcuaro are usually around 50*F/9*C, so it is important to bring warm clothing.  There is a nice outdoor bathroom available to campers and the gardens are beautiful.

Lovely, Peaceful Oasis
Casa Werma is a beautiful, peaceful oasis just a few blocks from the heart of the Spanish colonial, small city of Patzcuaro - you get a perfect combination of a quiet garden home with an authentically Mexican, cosmopolitan life. The staff is friendly and responsive. We love the fountain with the turtles and koi, the patio with a breakfast cafe several days a week (delicious banana latte), and the expansive greenery and flowers. Yet in just a short walk we could enjoy Patzcuaro's bustling marketplace or Plaza Grande lined with cafes and restaurants. Highly recommended.

A thruly magical place
I had the opportunity to attend the Meditation in action-the path ofthe buda- retreat and it was great, Marty Janowitz is an amazing teacher and the spanish translation was really good. The accommodations are fantastic and the staff was really helpful and kind. The garden is beautiful, walking there is inspiring. It made me happy :)

Peaceful meditation retreat in a small colonial city in the highlands of Mexico
Casa Werma is such a lovely retreat space—it is truly one of the lungs of Patzcuaro with its marvelous gardens. The staff are kind and hospitable as well!
