About this Retreat
Juan Carlos is a devoted practitioner of medicine and plant spirit channeling, uniquely blending the wisdom of his Amazonian heritage from his father's side with his maternal Andean (Incan) lineage. As an Ayahuascero, Tabaquero, visionary artist, and musician, he weaves together these rich cultural traditions in his work and service.
For the past 20 years, Juan Carlos has shared his transformative work across the globe, gaining recognition for his powerful ikaro songs and the exceptional quality of the medicine he prepares. He regularly returns to his sacred land, Inti Yacu, a 37-hectare sanctuary dedicated to the reintroduction of healing plant species.
The Taminchi family is committed to nurturing these sacred plants, protecting their natural habitats, and reforesting the area to ensure that they continue to heal and inspire generations to come. Through his work, Juan Carlos embodies the profound connection between nature and spirit, fostering healing and empowerment for all who cross his path.
Asdrubal’s journey is deeply rooted in a profound connection with master plants and traditional wisdom. Over the years, he has immersed himself in various ancestral practices, cultivating a deep understanding of healing through nature. As a dedicated bodyworker specializing in myofascial deep tissue therapy, permaculture, and plant medicine, Asdrubal’s mission is to inspire and empower individuals toward a more sustainable and balanced way of living.
His approach integrates a diverse array of tools, drawing from the symbiotic relationships between humans, nature, and the elements. By fostering a reconnection of body, mind, and spirit, Asdrubal invites others to explore the healing potential that exists within themselves and their natural surroundings.
Through years of observation, study, and practical experience, Asdrubal has developed sustainable systems that are the foundation of Casa Arkaana’s vision. His life's work is to create and maintain a healing sanctuary that exists in harmony with nature, offering a space for deep transformation and growth.
Maja is a dedicated integrative wellness facilitator and co-founder of Casa Arkaana (Ecological Transformation Sanctuary), with 20 years of immersion in the realms of yoga, self-inquiry, and consciousness. Her diverse journey weaves an abundant and tapestry of experiences, transmission and studies, deeply rooted in the humanities. Maja is extensively trained in a multitude of yoga disciplines, including Hatha, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Prenatal, and Trauma-Informed Yoga. In addition to walking a path of yoga and meditation, she is also trained as a Birth Doula.
Alongside this she has dedicated the last decade and more to learning from the master plants through ancient healing traditions and ethnobotanical studies. At the heart of her work is a commitment of service to facilitating the expansion of awareness and empowering individuals to align with their innate potential and purpose, thus co-creating a more harmonious, conscious and sustainable world.
Harley’s journey has led her through psychological study, years practicing and teaching Yoga, meditation and energetic healing, to Kundalini bodywork, somatic trauma release therapies, Mediumship through the Akashic Records and deep into Shamanic practice.
As a therapist, her primary focus points are spiritual council and development, somatic regulation and embodiment and working with clients to prepare for and integrate peak experiences, such as through working with plant medicines.
As a Shamanic practitioner, Harley has recently begun sharing the heart-healing medicine of the Rose, which she loves weaving into her work as a workshop and retreat facilitator, creating spaces primarily for women, to elevate and develop through the lens of the Divine feminine.
Through this work it is her greatest honour to be of service and to hold a nurturing and compassionate space for healing.
Details of this retreat
We wholeheartedly invite you to join us for this sacred journey of healing, connection, and empowerment at Casa Arkaana, where the jungle and the spirit of the land hold space for your luminous spirit to shine.
Join us for an immersive retreat designed to deepen your connection to your heart and the healing powers of nature. Nestled in the enchanting Mayan jungle at Casa Arkaana, this unique experience will guide you through a journey of inner liberation, self-discovery, and transformation.
Throughout this six-day retreat, we will engage in a diverse array of ancient and contemporary healing practices. Our carefully curated itinerary integrates Indigenous Amazonian and Andean plant medicine ceremonies, traditional Native American Temazcal (Inipi), and powerful Earth-based and heart-centred energetic healing modalities. Each practice is woven together to create a safe container for your healing journey.
As we gather in circle, you will be held and supported through deep release and cleansing stages. Our time together will begin with an opening circle and the creation of an altar, setting our intentions for our sacred work. We will experience a Tobacco cleanse, a practice that helps clear energetic blockages and opens the mind, body, heart and spirit to healing.
Daily activities will include restorative yoga sessions that promote gentle movement and mindfulness, allowing us to align our entire being as we cultivate a deeper sense of presence and inner peace. Our Huachumo cenote exploration is an invitation to connect with the pristine spirit of nature… a walk through the Mayan jungle will lead us to a beautiful cenote. We will create a despacho, an offering to the Earth, as we give thanks and honour sacred reciprocity. Upon our return, we will rebirth in the Temazcal (sweat lodge) followed by a nurturing flower bath. We will also participate in a heart-opening Cacao ceremony infused with the medicine of the rose. This beautiful communal prayer that fosters deep connection will also be a space within which we will connect with our voices and our bodies. In addition to these transformative practices, we will dedicate time for reflection and integration. Sharing circles will provide a safe space to express and assimilate your experiences, while guided meditations will help explore and anchor your healing. Our Bach flower-making workshop will empower you with tools to support your well-being by making you own medicines in everyday life.
Free time is woven into our schedule, allowing you to relax, journal, or take a refreshing dip in the pool. Optional offerings include Myofascial Release Massage, Akashic Record readings, and Mapacho consultations, designed to enhance and deepen your experience should you wish to do so.
As we conclude our retreat, you will partake in a final retreat integration ceremony, offering gratitude to the Earth and solidifying the insights gained during our time in the jungle together. By the end of this journey, you will emerge with a renewed sense of self and community, a heart illuminated by the wisdom of the plants, and useful tools to carry this brightness into your everyday life.
We invite you to join us for this sacred journey of healing and empowerment at Casa Arkaana, where the jungle, the spirit of the land and your dedicated facilitators hold the nurturing space for your luminous spirit and your heart to radiate out into a brighter world.
