Details of this retreat

In this tender season between winter’s rest and spring’s renewal, Lent invites us to dwell in the mystery of waiting—trusting that new life will emerge. In early March, traces of winter still linger, yet signs of spring are also beginning to appear. It is an ambivalent time. Themes of life and death are intertwined. We wait patiently for spring to emerge fully, just as we anticipate the Resurrection. As we wait for the joy of Easter, nature models patience and acceptance. This liminal space invites us to sit with our grief and hold space, knowing that there is a promise of renewal and new life. We are invited to embrace the rhythms of death and new life in both nature and in Lent through prayer, nature meditation, journaling, and sharing.

Transition to renewal
Spending the New Year’s Holiday at the Genesis Spiritual Life Center was the perfect way to usher in a new year. Time to rest, relax, pray, and write and to do it with those of similar wants, was absolutely wonderful. It will be hard not to do it again next year.

A Simply Centered Advent: Mandalas, Crayoning and Prayers
I found this program very special. I didn't know what to expect but found the whole hour and the crayoning in particular very quieting and peaceful. Focusing on the crayoning with the background music allowed me to focus completely on what I was doing.
The presenter had such a calming way of offering the material and added interesting pieces of art that illustrated the mandalas we were working on.
I hope you will consider bringing Sharon back next Advent
