Details of this retreat

Embark on a captivating Advent journey that will transform your perspective on the holiday season. This unique book study invites you to explore the profound wisdom hidden in nature's winter adaptations, offering a fresh and inspiring approach to the Christ story.

Every single creature is full of God and is a book about God.  Every creature is a word of God. If I spend enough time with the tiniest creature, even a caterpillar, I would never have to prepare a sermon. So full of God is every creature. – Meister Eckhart
All Creation Waits: The Advent Mystery of New Beginnings
Each week, we’ll uncover the wisdom of winter as we explore how northern animals adapt to darkness and cold, revealing the promise of new beginnings. Step away from the holiday hustle and immerse yourself in a reflective study that will inspire your spirit and deepen your connection to this sacred season.

Join us for our four week Advent study All Creation Waits: The Advent Mystery of New Beginnings

As Gayle Boss describes in the introduction:
The practice of Advent has always been about helping us to grasp the mystery of a new beginning out of what looks like death. Other-than-human creatures – sprung like us from the Source of Life – manifest this mystery without question or doubt. The more I’m with animals and the more I learn about them, the more I know they can be more than our companions on this planet. They can be our guides. They can be to us “a book about God… a word of God,” the God who comes, even in the darkest season, to bring us a new beginning.

Beautiful setting that hosted our group
Genesis Spiritual Center provided a smooth experience for our retreat. The rooms were easy to access and the facility provided us with a wonderful location for our retreat to meet together. The staff members were friendly, helpful, polite, and saw to our needs. I was pleased to see the center provided composting and participates in recycling. The grounds are quite lovely and I felt very safe on the property and in the surrounding town. I highly recommend Genesis Spiritual Center for private retreats. If looking for healing and spiritual renewal the other programs offered there seem to be helpful as well.

COMPANIONING LOSS ANDS GRIEF
WONDERFUL!!! LOUISE AND JOE COLLETTI were warm and so wise. They have explained loss and grief in a way that I could grasp and appreciate. I told Louise that I felt like a “sponge” absorbing everything they was saying by the end of the day.
The structure of the workshop was very good. Personal reflection in the morning, and practice of responses in the afternoon added depth to all that they were saying.
It has been a long time since I visited Genesis. The environment is also warm and wonderful. Thank you for the care the kitchen staff provided with such a delicious lunch. The grounds are beautiful.
