About this Retreat
Maestro Daniel Lopez is a healer in the Shipibo-Konibo tradition of shamanism. His ancestry is in the Pucallpa region in the village of San Franscisco (Yarinacocha), where he grew up. Having now moved to Iquitos, his mission is to preserve and spread the ancestral way of working with plant medicine as taught by his elders.
This includes work with Ayahuasca, as well as a many other master plants and medicinal herbs. In line with the worldview of his elders, he connects with the plants to help to bring about healing in the whole person - on a spiritual as well as bodily and psychological level. Healing in this tradition is both an art and a discipline that requires a long and dedicated practice, reflecting a deep respect to the Medicine and the path of sharing it with others.
With Maestro Daniel, you can be sure of a safe space for the deepest healing journeys, as guided by the plant spirits and the experienced Maestros at BIRI BENXO.

Directions
Our center is in a quiet area not far from Iquitos, Peru. The center is located 0,5 km from Nueva Esperanza, a small village about 1.5 hours from Iquitos airport (direction south). We offer a free pick-up from the city center or airport before the retreat, and later transport back to the city.
Accommodation
Private or shared accommodation options next to the ceremony house. Each guest house is furnished with 1 or 2 beds and a table. Electricity is available from solar panels for charging electronic devices Clean drinking water is always available Electricity is available from solar panels for charging electronic devices Clean drinking water is always available We have 8 huts (Tambos or rooms) on our property. Each guest has a single-person wooden house with a mattress, blankets, towel, soap, candles, hammock and mosquito net. There is a large communal houses with a shared space for workshops, a kitchen available for everyone, an eco shower and a shared toilet. We have limited electricity from solar panels & collect water for washing from a small lake. Our drinking water is from a deep well using a specialized filter for clean, safe, delicious water. We try to live as close to nature as possible.

The ceremony space is constructed around a sacred tree - Palo Parfume, which emits a sweet odor and is used as a medicine in this tradition. The ceremony room is large and spacious, leaving all attendants with plenty of personal room during the ceremonies. A comfortable laying mattress is provided for each participant.

We offer an Ayahuasca dieta, which can be vegetarian or include meat (fish, chicken). Meals are served 3 times a day, except on ceremony days, when only breakfast and lunch are served.
