Jaya has facilitated over 8,000 Trauma integration and Energy therapy sessions that have helped people’s bodies, minds and spirits to heal tremendously well.
She has also offered, co-facilitated and assisted numerous workshops, online trainings and week-long international retreats on the benefits, tools and practices of Somatic Therapy, as well as Energy Therapy.
She has obtained Certification as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), Advanced Parama BodyTalk Practitioner, Certified yoga teacher, Mindfulness Life Coach, Cranial Sacral, and Reiki practitioner.
Jaya completed Peter Levine PhD’s 3 year Professional Somatic Experiencing Training that helps to integrate trauma/bound survival energy and related symptoms, while enhancing the nervous system’s capacity for self~regulation. She also attended 2 5 day Somatic Experiencing Master classes called, “Eye of the Needle (Part 1 & 2)”, which provides techniques for integrating Near Dear Experiences (NDEs), post-surgical Trauma, altered and anesthesia states, etc. This approach treats symptoms related to frequent dissociation, Global High Intensity Activation (GHIA), emotional/mood polarities, gut and sleep issues, as well as other more mild trauma symptoms.
Jaya works primarily with clients that want to integrate:
1) challenging mental/emotional patterns and their influences on physical health and vice versa;
2) trauma and its various affects on mental/emotional health, sleep, digestion, and other physical symptoms, as well as living an embodied, empowered life; and
3) inherited ancestral patterns that are detrimental to overall health and well~being, and the ability to live fulfilled, conscious lives.
She is also the author of the self~help book, “Who We Are When We Thrive: Remembering Happiness & Rediscovering Health.”
Jaya completed a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Waterloo and an MA in Peace and Development Studies at the UJI University in Spain.
Over the last two decades, she has traveled to over 35 countries for work, play, and study at universities and various spiritual institutions. She walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain and the sacred Machu Picchu trail in Peru, visited the pyramids of Egypt and the Mayans' of Mexico, the Sea of Galilee in Israel, holy Bethlehem in Palestine, the Buddhist Temples of Asia, spent periods of time in the Ashrams of India, lived and worked amongst the ancient cultures of West Africa, studied literature in Ireland and peace and development studies in Spain, swam with the dolphins in Hawaii and much more in the search of truth and for love of life!
Jaya has also studied and sat in person with many well-known, beloved Sages and wise people including: Mooji, Ramesh Balsekar, Thich Nhat Hanh, Bentinho Massaro, Matt Kahn, Abraham Hicks, and more.
Previous to becoming a therapist, she worked as a consultant in International Development with the Canadian Federal Government (CIDA) for 7 years.
In her downtime, Jaya loves to run, bike, swim in lakes and rivers, do yoga, meditate, dance, read and write poetry, study about trauma and neuroplasticiity, make amazingly tasty and healthy food, and play with her beautiful son and friends.
