Martín Rey, has carved a unique path at the intersection of the modern world and the deep traditions of ancestral medicine. As the founder of Shamanzon, his mission is not only to bring this wisdom to Europe but also to honor and preserve the purity of the teachings received from the greatest guardians of the Amazon. Martín sees himself as an apprentice and a bridge, whose life has been shaped by encounters with masters who left an indelible mark on his journey. From his youth, dreams and curiosity led him to explore other realities, seeking answers through sacred plants. His first contact with yagé revealed his calling: a profound path of transformation, learning, and service. Under the guidance of Taita Isaías, leader of the Kitchwa communities, the spirit of the jaguar entered his life, teaching him harmonization, balance, and the principles essential for guiding ceremonies. With Taita Richard Chasoy, one of the most respected yagé cooks of the Inga Manoy, Martín learned not only the art of preparing this powerful medicine but also the secrets of green and red magic, the Coyanguiyas (plants of prosperity), and the Chondures (plants of spiritual protection). Tío Pacho, patriarch of the Inganos, introduced him to the Borrachero, a potent plant capable of granting vision or danger if approached unprepared. In Putumayo, Martín learned that true vision requires knowledge, clarity, and a clean heart. Under this mentorship, he mastered botanical sciences accessible only to those with readiness of spirit. Taita Jairo Palchucán, a Kamentza master, taught him the power of ceremonial music and vibration to move energy, harmonize ceremonies, and support the healing process. Music became a fundamental tool in Martín’s work. Taita José Antonio Jansasoy and Mamá Yolimar guided him in the wisdom of silence, helping him confront shadows and balance masculine and feminine energies within himself. Martín’s journey continues, and he is emerging as a future Taita, embodying the humility of one who knows that true knowledge is never fully complete. Mateu Navarro – Communication, Services & Retreat Facilitator

Mat’s journey has not been a straight line, but rather an evolution of faith and heart. Although he worked for years in 3D design, since childhood he harbored a deep existential curiosity and a desire to help the underprivileged build their homes. At the age of nine, on the day of his First Communion, he made a prayer that resonates more than ever today: he asked to protect the Amazon so that the world would not run out of oxygen. Following a personal awakening in 2012, he lived his spirituality privately until the calling of the medicine became inevitable. In 2020, he traded the digital environment for the path of ancestral medicines, sound, and energy. Since then, he has been accompanying processes as a therapist and facilitator, understanding medicine as a powerful medium that requires letting go of control and having the will to bring order to one’s life and receive healing. By placing himself at the service of others, life is guiding him toward indigenous communities and learning from great masters; he has had the honor of serving at the altar alongside Taita Isaías of Putumayo, gaining a deep understanding of the discipline and respect that the tradition demands. At 37, his first journey to the jungle this June, collaborating with OsolTribe projects, marks the beginning of the path sparked by that childhood prayer. His mission is to weave honest bridges between Europe and the Amazon, facilitating authentic, grounded, and transformative experiences.

Karis Knight – Support & Integration

Karis is devoted to supporting how spiritual experiences are embodied, lived, and sustained before, during, and long after ceremony ends. For over ten years, she has walked a committed spiritual path, practising and studying spiritual traditions with deep respect for their roots and the cultures they come from. Her journey began through yoga and nervous system awareness, alongside a lifelong relationship with art as a tool for remembrance and integration. Through community-based healing work, Karis formed a lived relationship with the Amazon rainforest and its people, including the Yawanawá tradition, undertaking periods of fasting and cultural study learned through direct experience rather than theory. She does not position herself as a teacher of Indigenous medicine, but as a bridge supporting participants in grounding their experiences, listening to the body, and carrying the joy, clarity, and truth of the forest back into daily life with integrity, reciprocity, and responsibility.

To ensure total discretion, the address of the retreat will only be provided to registered participants. As part of our preparations, a WhatsApp group will be created 7 days before the retreat to facilitate communication and provide all necessary instructions in advance. The retreat is conveniently located near Barcelona, accessible by public transportation in less than 1 hour. If you prefer to drive, ample parking is available, and detailed directions will be provided to ensure you arrive without any hassle.

Accommodation

All guests will initially be accommodated in shared rooms equipped with comfortable mattresses and pillows. While blankets are provided, you may wish to bring your own for additional comfort. Our home ensures a cozy stay with clean bathroom facilities and a fully equipped kitchen for your convenience. We aim for your stay to be both comfortable and enjoyable. I attended the Ayahuasca retreat with Shamanzon and had a truly positive experience. The level of professionalism, care, and organization was outstanding from start to finish.
The facilitators created a safe and well-held space, and I felt supported throughout the ceremonies. The team clearly has deep knowledge and experience in this work.
The accommodation and food were also of very good quality.
