Martín Rey Pereiras (Alpa Kamaska)

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Martín Rey Pereiras, known as Alpa Kamaska, has carved a unique path at the intersection of the modern world and the deep traditions of ancestral medicines. As the creator of Shamanzon, his mission is not only to bring this wisdom to Europe but also to honor and preserve the purity of the teachings received from the greatest guardians of the Amazon. Martín sees himself as an apprentice, a bridge man whose life has been marked by encounters with masters who have left an indelible imprint on him and guided him toward his destiny.

His journey began in his youth, with dreams that led him to explore other realities and seek answers in sacred plants. From his first contact with yagé, he understood that he was called to follow a profound path of transformation and learning. Under the guidance of Taita Isaías, leader of the Kitchwa communities, the spirit of the jaguar entered his life, teaching him harmonization and balance—essential principles for guiding ceremonies and connecting with the energies of the jungle.

Taita Richard Chasoy, one of the most respected yagé cooks from the Inga Manoy community, revealed the science behind the preparation of this powerful medicine, as well as the mysteries of green and red magic. Richard imparted the knowledge of the Coyanguiyas, plants that bring prosperity and luck, and the chondures, essential for spiritual protection. With Richard, Martín not only learned to cook yagé but also to delve into the botanical secrets that sustain this ancestral medicine.

El Tío Pacho, patriarch of the inganos and master of the borrachero, introduced him to one of the most dangerous and powerful plants, capable of granting vision or blinding you if you are not prepared. During his travels to Putumayo, Martín learned that true vision requires not only knowledge but also a clean and strong heart. Under his mentorship, he deepened his understanding of the borrachero, a science mastered by few and accessible only to those with a prepared spirit.

Taita Jairo Palchucán, a Kamentza master, taught him about the power of ceremonial music and vibration to move energies, balance the spirit, and harmonize ceremonies. Music became a fundamental tool in his work, a key part of the healing he offers. In turn, Taita José Antonio Jansasoy and Mamá Yolimar guided him in the wisdom of silence, where Martín learned to confront his own shadows and find balance between the masculine and feminine energies within him.

Martín's journey has been long and continues, but he is already emerging as a future Taita, embodying the humility of those who recognize that true knowledge is never fully acquired. Shamanzon, his creation, reflects this commitment: a space where ancestral medicines arrive in Europe alongside true guardians, and where Martín continues to learn, honor, and walk with those who have guided him. Each ceremony and encounter presents an opportunity for growth, always carrying the message of respect, responsibility, and humility—the essential virtues for any true healer.
