About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

It can be a challenge to find a safe, healthy, and nurturing space to explore one's grief, in a grief-illiterate world. Grief, though, needs to be lovingly and fully tended to, whether it is a recent loss or a much older, unhealed wound.

Grief can result from the death of a loved one to the loss of a partnership to the pain of a traumatic event; healing our grief always requests our full participation.

With grief there is nothing to solve or move past, only to honor and integrate. Emotions from grief are neither negative nor positive, they are simply a reflection of the love that seeks non-judgmental witnessing and full expression. With that approach, we employ a variety of innovative, effective and well-researched tools for navigating the unpredictable and unexpected feelings that grief produces.

From our somatic-based exercises, grief yoga classes, nondual coaching and meditations, and range of biofeedback and virtual reality technologies, we provide a multi-faceted approach tailored to your individual needs.

We also draw upon your spiritual or humanistic framework to create memorable rituals and practices that can help to bring meaning to your grief journey.

This retreat is all-inclusive, year-round, and offers opportunities for extensions and additional packages.

Please note: This is a private retreat, however, there may be other guests staying in our other lodgings but the classes, activities, etc, will all be on a one-to-one/private basis. You may also have your meals with other guests.

Schedule

The schedule will be set prior to the retreat with an initial phone consultation. We aim to accommodate the diversity of sleep cycles, optimal energy times, and desired downtime with each individual. All activities are between 45 minutes to an hour. The general guideline is as follows:

Day 1: Guests are invited to arrive by mid-afternoon so they can settle in and explore the grounds.
There will be a one-on-one session (or group session) to set intentions for the retreat, a deeper exploration of current challenges and some helpful tools to begin to practice on the retreat.

Day 2:
Optional morning meditation
Morning grief yoga class
Mid-day guided somatic grief process
Late afternoon art therapy class
Sunset letter writing practice

Day 3:
Morning nondual yoga class
Ancestral connections class (humanistic/spiritually tailored)
Late morning closing ritual
Note: Schedule is approximate and may change
