PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This nurturing art and yoga retreat honours Cancer’s themes of home, memory, and nourishment through slow movement, breathwork, and the creation of clay vessels.
Following a gentle, heart-forward yoga sequence, you’ll move into hand-forming Japanese-style tea cups—simple, handle-less, deeply personal. Using impressions from botanicals gathered on Nectar’s land, each vessel becomes a container for memory and belonging.
This workshop will be co-led by Sara Skuce of The Burrow on Bowen Island, who will guide both the hand-building of Japanese tea cups and the creation of a botanical-stamped clay pendant; all pieces will be professionally fired and glazed in traditional cobalt hues at her Bowen studio and ready for pickup or shipment four weeks later (shipping available for an additional fee).

Directions

We are a ten-minute drive from Snug Cove, where the ferry docks on Bowen Island.

No vehicle? Take the local bus (280 Bluewater). Just tell the driver you would like to be dropped off at Nectar Yoga “just before Adams Road.” The bus runs on a semi-consistent basis—check timing before your trip. Walking from the cove takes 45-60 minutes, and hitch hiking is legal on Bowen Island.

We have free parking available on site labeled by numbers. Please pick any number but try to park tightly so we can accommodate everyone.

Situated on 20 forested acres of land mid-island, we acknowledge that we live on the island of Nex̱wlélex̱m (known as Bowen Island in colonial times) on unceded Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) territory.

Nectar yoga silent retreat

I enjoyed the silent retreat at nectar yoga very much and look forward to coming back to attend another one. Andrea and Sat did an amazing job guiding us through a silent day. We learned many different techniques and meditation methods to take home with us. I thank them for their knowledge and gift in sharing. If you are looking to learn something new or improve your existing practice in a beautiful environment with experienced teachers this is your retreat. Highly recommended this to anyone.

Phenomenal experience!

We did the silent retreat with Andrea and Sat and it was a phenomenal experience. I’ve been to more than 15 yoga/meditation retreats (locally and abroad) and I have to say this was by far the best I’ve experienced.

The programming was extremely well laid out and clearly thought through down to the most minute detail. Andrea has a wide depth and breadth of knowledge and communicates this in a way that is very understandable to all levels of students. Her instruction is very clear, and she has very calming and soothing way in her guidance of the classes.

Physically, the space is stunning, the facilities are clean, stylish, yet warm and cozy, and the surroundings are beautiful and serene.

Highly recommend Andrea and Sat’s Nectar Yoga!
