About this Retreat
Yogi Prakash, founder of Shanti Yoga Ashram and author of the Tantra Yoga series; is the Guru and main teacher of the ashram. His magnanimous and humble nature combined with his great capacity to teach allows him to transmit the spiritual essence of Tantra Yoga to his students with joy and love. He inspires them by embodying yoga in his own way of life. Even before the establishment of Shanti Yoga Ashram in 2001, spiritual seekers found their way to Guruji’s front door to receive his teachings, which he generously shares with much devotion. His mission is to uplift humanity through spiritual education.
He was born in the family of the enlightened yoga master Yogi Hari Dhungana and grew up surrounded by yogic culture. For the past 10 year he has continued to deepen his knowledge in Nepal with a highly evolved Tantra yoga master, Swami Shivalingham Saraswati. For the past 20 years he has been fully dedicated to teaching yoga both at home and abroad; circling the globe teaching the deeper aspects of yoga.

Why Tantra?
Tantra represents the natural progression and evolution of yoga. It is a comprehensive system rooted in the teachings of Lord Shiva to Parvati, encompassing five distinct yogic paths and serving as the origin of yoga itself.
The word tantra means expansion, while tra signifies freedom. Tantra is the art of liberating oneself from physical, mental, and spiritual limitations by expanding energy and consciousness.
Unlike many traditional yoga systems, Tantra adopts a holistic and inclusive approach, embracing all aspects of life. It uses life itself as a teacher, guiding us to freedom by fostering acceptance of everything as it is. This acceptance gradually dissolves limitations and conditioning, empowering us to step into our full potential and experience the joy of truly living.
Tantra Yoga focuses on activating and harnessing the latent power of the chakras in a systematic way. This practice heals and balances the physical, emotional, energetic, mental, and spiritual aspects of our being. Ultimately, it leads to the realization of supreme consciousness — the highest purpose of human existence.
