About this Retreat
Marakame Antonio Carrillo Lopez is a medicine man from the Huichol or Wixarika community.
Learned into the medicine path since a child, he represents his tribe with integrity, meekness and uprightness. He has travelled to Europe for over 10 years but does most of his travelling and work within MEXICO.
He is a young medicine man, and sings during his ceremonies in his native tongue.
Natalie Eidi is a multi-cultural organizer of Ceremonies, pilgrimages, retreats, sacred sexuality workshops, permaculture workshops and various spiritual events in Mexico, Greece and other places in the world . She founded the intentional community of Las Liridas built around a ceremonial center where the ceremonies she organizes are held frequently. She does not call herself a teacher, or a medicine woman, or a shaman, or a guide. She likes to be called by her name, Natalie, and is mostly interested in the ability we all have to self reflect and find our own truth and path. She does have permission to share the medicine of the peyote and also works closely with a renowned yagecero-ayahuasquero (or Medicine man from the deep amazon of Colombia that works with Ayahuasca), yet still, she inclines toward tradition when it is possible to have someone from the ancestral lineage present in such rituals.
Details of this retreat
This journey is meant to symbolize taking a step further in your spiritual quest and give depth to your personal evolution.
Visiting some of the Sacred Sites of the Wixarritari people, accompanied by a Marakame (medicine man/man of wisdom) to connect us to the Guardian Spirits of the Land, and help us place our offerings, prayers and intentions into these mythical points in Wirikuta Desert.
This journey is NOT meant as a touristic trip.
This Voyage is first of all, a commitment to making an Inner Voyage of self study, shedding anything and everything that no longer serves, and intention setting for better aligning to the path of your calling.
These sites are not often visited by people unfamiliar to the traditions, so they carry a special aura to them. We are offered the opportunity to witness and pray there with utmost respect since we are travelling with a Marakame from the Ancestral Tradition, official guardians of these sacred lands and plant.
Each site we visit has a very important significance to their worldviews, which they follow and keep alive in their privately held yearly pilgrimages they do as a tribe, a tradition kept for thousands of years. Here in this voyage we will do a very special fragment of their usual journey.
There will be some fasting during this journey and also an all day trek. We must prepare our minds, spirit and bodies too....
