Nikki Szeghalmi

Nikki grew up just outside Toronto, Canada and currently lives nestled amongst the Andes in the Sacred Valley of Peru. As a teacher dedicated to working with people with special needs and at-risk youth, she has devoted her life to being a support to others. Coming from a background of addiction and depression, she was called to Peru in 2018 to start working with her teachers Bernard Kashagen and Chase Moore for a deep dive into her healing. Wanting others to experience the grace of the medicine as she has, she offers a safe space of presence and love, weaving in various mind, body, and energetic practices. She is a balance of grit and softness, embodying permission for each guest to explore their unique experience with the medicine. With deep reverence for the magic that unfolds in ceremony and thereafter, she meets each individual where they’re at. She loves to play with life and you’ll often find her cracking jokes and laughing, seeking lightness and joy amidst the challenges of life.

Amazing healing space

From the moment I stepped onto the property I knew Ananda lodge was the right place for what we wanted to share with our guest.

Jay and his staff are very accomadating
The professionalism and the patience of Jay Kim and there staff is outstanding.
As one of the host for the Design your life yoga retreat I always felt comfortable to share our vision and it was recieved with no judgment.
Our guest also felt very comfortable asking questions to both Jay and the chefs , Jonathan & Mary who are magic ! We had quit a few dietary concerns . Bless them they made all of our bellies very happy.
Describing every meal with such beautiful presentation and if you wanted seconds or thrids in my case on pasta night ( sooo good)it wasn't a problem.
We enjoyed a sound bath with Kim in the maloka that had everyone looking forward to wrapping themselves up in the vey comfortable beds for a good night's sleep.
The cleaning staff and security did an amazing job , when you are visiting the jungle you should be prepared to find some if it's lovely creatures. From frogs to monkeys and such beautiful brids 😀

We had such a beautiful time hosting at Ananda Lodge. We brought 12 women to lead a 5 day yoga/therapy retreat. From the beginning Jay and Kim were incredibly supportive and communicative. The rooms were beautiful and the yoga shala/maloca was a dream to teach in.
The food was out of this world, chefs Jonathan and Mary created dishes with love and intention. Every meal was a hit with our guests. Jay helped us arrange excursions so we got to explore surfing, zipling and a sunset cruise. We would love to bring more groups and guests in the future.

I started searching online for a retreat when I realized I was being called to try healing plant medicine. As soon as I found Ananda Lodge and began reading through their material I knew it was the right place. That intuition was completely validated every step of the way. The owners, Kimberly and J. are loving, patient and respectful. They have built a beautiful safe space to heal and grow. I feel more alive, joyful, grateful and full of love than I have in my entire life. The Hauchumera, Nikki, is another genuine, caring person that comes to serve Hauchuma at Ananda. She has lived in Peru, where the Hauchuma cactus grows, for seven or eight years. She has a profound respect for the medicine and is a genuine, caring human who is an excellent guide for those she serves.
Last, but certainly not least, Mary and Jonathan are also an important part of the Ananda Lodge experience. They are both eager to help you in any way they can. They prepare delicious, fresh, healthy meals three times a day for you and your fellow new friends and are also believers in the power of plant medicine.
I could write pages and pages about the revelations that came to me over the course of the 7 day retreat, but will try to capture the essence in saying it shows you what is truly important in life, how we are all connected to one another, the planet, all living things on the planet and that everything comes from an infinite flowing river of love. For me I realized I had been living in mild fear, anxiety, confusion and distraction. I hope to keep move forward with the renewed mindset of what truly makes us happy: spending time with those we love, doing the things we love, being in nature, helping others and taking care of our planet, its inhabitants, our bodies, minds and spirits.
