About this Retreat
My love language is creating a safe and nurturing environment, for one to rest and feel comfortable in.
Connection to the elements and the rhythms of the seasons is the way I live my life and I am here to share that with you.
The Yogic lifestyle has been a best friend to me over the past decade, helping through illness and struggle. Before moving to Gozo I spent 4 years studying and teaching Yoga and Ayurveda between India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Portugal in various retreat centres.
I have now been living in Gozo since 2020, hosting my own retreats. Whilst I am still an avid Yogi, I have been led to work with Reiki and The Akashic Records since being on the island. I will be guiding you through a personal Energy Healing, Group Meditation and Fire Ceremony on the retreat.
My wish is for you to join our family and experience a safe space where you can adventure into your own heart and realise your highest potential.
Mila’s early life as an actress led her to explore the human body and its capacity through movement in theatre, where she spent 30 years as an artistic director and teacher of the arts.
This journey led her to realize that we are more than just a physical body, and this is how, why, and when she came across and then fell in love with Yoga.
For over 25 years Mila has been immersing herself in holistic health, self-healing, and eastern philosophy, and studying the vast lineages of ancient spiritual wisdom.
She has studied and practiced Tai Chi, Reiki, Ashtanga Yoga, Lucid Dreaming, Tarot, and Astrology, and is a qualified Vegan and Vegetarian Nutritionist.
Mila left the world of theatre to dedicate her time to spreading the light on Yoga. Holding a wealth of knowledge.
Mila wishes for everyone to discover the healing that occurs when we unite our minds with our hearts. To find a clear path where there is no hesitation but only truth.
Hi, my name is Iris.
I see myself as somebody who moved from modern western science to work and live a more holistic style, understanding the combination of both as a way to lived the life in balance.
From Spain, a lover of travel, I have spent many years of my adult life travelling around different parts of the world.
I studied Pathological Anatomy and Cytology in Spain working in various hospitals as well as research work for six years in inmuno-neuroscience laboratories.
Spending one year in Australia, I worked as a massage therapist actively learning from experienced Chinese, Japanese, Korean professionals, an absolutely wonderful learning experience! One that marked the beginning of my passion.
Since then I haven’t stopped to get deep in bodywork techniques, doing Yoga courses and different styles of massage therapies trainings like Thai Massage, Dynamic Thai Massage, Shiatsu, Wuo Tai, Craniosacral and Lomi Lomi Nui, doing a combination of the different styles with the goal to offering the best of myself in each therapy.
I became a massage therapist because I believe that treating the physical body is a way to help people to bring their own healing to the non-physical body.

Originally from Brussels (Belgium), and after many years in Paris and Hong Kong, Beatrice landed in 2020 on the beautiful island of Gozo, a place that she now calls home.
During her years in Hong Kong, where she worked for a cinema tech company, she started her healing and spiritual journey. First with yoga, which soon became a daily practice when she realised the amazing benefits for the body, mind and soul. After a few years of having to deal with extreme stressful events in both personal and professional aspects of her life, she developed her interest in complementary natural holistic therapies such as energy healing, breath work, sound therapy…
In Hong Kong and also in Bali, which holds a special place in her heart and her healing journey, her path crossed healers, shamans, alchemists who taught her about their philosophy and practices and helped her develop her own natural healing abilities.
She currently holds a Level 3 Reiki certificate (Usui Reiki), a Therapeutic Support Certificate and is also a certified Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Meditation teacher (YACEP Yoga Alliance).
Beatrice’s healing sessions are a mix of different techniques, integrating breath, meditation, chakra work... Each session is unique and different, depending of the energy of the person and the present moment. She loves how they can help people feel better and deal with their physical, mental and emotional challenges in their every day life.
My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, somatic approach, with a focus on nervous system regulation. I relate to the body as a space where experience and memory are held, and where integration can unfold through breath, sensation, and awareness.
I also bring experience working with non-ordinary states of consciousness in therapeutic settings, which informs my ability to support deeper processes with presence, care, and stability.
Over the past decade, my path has been both personal and professional, rooted in meditation, self-inquiry, and embodied awareness. Time spent in Buddhist monasteries in Thailand, together with long-term Vipassana practice, has shaped my understanding of presence, observation, and inner stillness.
Alongside this, I have trained in Traditional Thai Massage, Hatha Yoga, and somatic practices, integrating structure, intuition, and attuned presence into my work.
Details of this retreat
Samudra is a small, intimate soul retreat held on the island of Gozo, Malta, for those ready to meet themselves. Not as they should be, but as they are.
This is not only a retreat centre. It is a home. And when you arrive, you are welcomed as a guest, not a customer. At Samudra, everything is included - every meal, every therapy, every practice, every ceremony. Once you arrive, there is nothing more to organise, book or spend. All you need to do is show up.
Our week-long immersion is an invitation to draw back from the noise of life and return to the rhythm of your body, your breath, and your truth. Here, we create safe and sacred space for the process of remembering. Who are you beneath the noise, the masks and the roles?
This is where you come to feel again. To be seen again. To choose yourself, again.
Through somatic practice, creative expression, deep rest, ritual, and the healing power of community, this retreat guides you back to the wisdom of your body and the quiet clarity of your inner truth. You will be held throughout by five facilitators who live here on Gozo - people who don't fly in to teach a programme and leave. This is their home. This is how they live. And for one week, you are welcomed into that.
Supported by our team, together we will:
• Express and integrate fears that have kept your heart guarded
• Release outdated beliefs and unconscious patterns rooted in old survival strategies
• Reconnect with your body as a wise and intuitive guide
• Build an inner foundation of self-worth, trust, security and belonging
• Open to love, joy, pleasure, connection and possibility
Your retreat includes:
Core components
• Transformational group sessions - exploring beliefs, emotional patterns, relationships, identity and truth
• Guided embodiment practices - yoga, meditation, breathwork, somatic exploration and ecstatic dance
• Sharing circles - cultivating vulnerability, transparency and connection
• Ceremonies and experiences - sound healing, nature immersion and creative playshops
• Post-retreat integration - an online space to anchor what you experienced during the week
Three personal 1:1 therapies
Each guest receives three private sessions, selected intuitively to support their unique journey:
• Massage - somatic therapy to heal the body's memory and emotional imprints
• Tarot reading - psychospiritual inquiry to dismantle belief structures and clarify inner truth
• Energy healing - releasing stagnation and opening the subtle pathways of the heart
These individual sessions are at the heart of the experience. They ensure that your process is not only shared, but deeply personal - meeting you precisely where you are.
We are a community of humans who have come together through our own healing journeys and a shared love of spirituality and holistic living. Founded by Luca and Mila - a mother and daughter who moved to Gozo and built Samudra from the life they were already living - this retreat was never a concept. It grew from a way of being.
If you feel a pull… that quiet knowing inside your chest that something profound is ready to shift - then you already know:
Your time is now. Your heart is ready. And this is the doorway.
Our retreats are held in beautiful traditional farmhouses in the quiet south-coast village of Qala, next door to our Samudra Shala and its 4,000-year-old underground healing cave. The sea is a short walk away. Every farmhouse has its own private pool and terrace. Maximum eleven guests. Five facilitators. All of it is yours, from the moment you arrive.
