Why InwardBound?

At InwardBound, our interdisciplinary team of psychotherapists, PhD scientists and holistic therapists believe in weaving together the threads of science and spirituality, knowing that the two ways are one. We work in the broad tradition of Dr Stan Grof - creating a safe container for people to access the wisdom of their own inner healer.
We come from a long tradition of psilocybin use in Ireland. Our Celtic ancestors used the wild mushrooms of Northern Europe (Psilocybe Semilanceata) and worked with the patterns of nature for healing and spiritual growth and we continue that land-based ancestral tradition to create a modern context for psilocybin ceremony and reconnection with nature.
We hold small groups with 3-4 facilitators, 8- 13 participants. This low ratio allows us to provide the highest possible standard of care for our participants.
We have worked with nearly 1,000 clients in this space since 2018.

Costa Rica feb 25
I charged into My first inward bound retreat experience in Costa Rica through desperation to find a way out of the rut my life was stuck in for years not really taking the time to think about the life changing journey I was about to embark upon.
The closer I got to the actual retreat the more I jittered with nerves, however as soon as I got there and met rob and his team it was like being welcomed into the safest environment on earth and my god the most beautiful, and over the next 4 days I had the most amazing life changing experience, I can’t exaggerate how safe and held I felt by the amazing team, these guy don’t run the retreat like a business they operate it as a passion with kindness, compassion and empathy towards the people on it and go above and beyond in everything to make sure you come away From the retreat with what you came for. Best thing I’ve ever done. Read More

Very hard to put into words, but I could just say amazing
For a while, I’ve been looking for something to help me deal with specific traumas that I’ve been holding onto. Someone connected me with Rob a few months ago and told me that he runs retreats in Costa Rica.

After speaking him on the phone, I trust that he was the right person. Him and his team were able to guide me on a journey deep into my soul.

While, the journey could’ve been hard I was able to work through everything. I needed to work through and came out stronger and happier on the other side.

This was definitely a life-changing experience that I’ll take with me forever.

Inwardbound Costa Rica Jan 2025
This is my second set of guided journeys with Rob who this time was accompanied by Cristina Kalyani, his deeply and broadly knowledgeable partner who exudes a similar mature, grounded and safe energy. They are also both talented musicians and a highlight of the ceremony were their live performances. They held supportive space for a powerful inward journey. The modalities explored beyond the medicine (vocal expression, music, asana yoga, movement, breathwork, chakra meditation) beautifully complemented the journey work. Both hosts provided helpful insights into the process and made insightful connections to greater themes and traditions. The setting is tropical paradise. A mountain jungle garden oasis with long distance views over the Pacific, the Whales Tail and down the coast to Osa. The property is teeming with life and vibrating with earth energy. I highly recommend the experience ❤️ Read More

A Deep Dive to a Rewarding Experience
My Inward Bound experience was, at times, surprising and even challenging but in all ways illuminating and meaningful. The team of our four facilitators led this amazing process with deep knowledge, experience, creativity, and empathy. In this supportive atmosphere, I connected with myself and the other members of our group in the best possible ways. Beyond that, the comfortable accommodations, beautiful setting, and delicious, wholesome food made the perfect setting for a journey of self-discovery. Read More

The Best
Inward Bound is the real deal. Rob, Renee, Darragh and Cristina created a space in time where a diverse group of people with varying intentions and needs opened, shared, sang, danced, laughed, loved and healed together. Delicious food, stunning setting and beautiful people. Go see for yourself. The best retreat I've been on. Read More
