Shani's journey into healing started through a breakthrough experience at the young age of 17. Through this she gained an interest in meditation and Yoga from which she has practiced steadily since 19 years old. She was also gifted at the age of 20 her first Reiki attunement from a renowned healer in the UK which led on to her further attunements and status as a Reiki Master. At the age of 21, straight after finishing studies in Law, she travelled to South Africa where she had her first experience with sacred plant medicines. Something which she says changed her life path forever and feels constantly grateful for that experience which led her to this place today. She then went to India searching for tools for self realization and kundalini awakening. During that time she lived in various ashrams and under different Yogic masters learning Hatha Yoga and the philosophy behind it. After returning to the UK, she quickly realised that she felt more alive being nomadic and left again on a quest for a way to live in a more sustainable way and aligned with her passion for healing. This led to many years in North, Central and South America discovering and training in different healing modalities, therapies and sacred plant medicines. It was in 2017 that the vision of Rumi Wasi was born with her partner, and they began living in the jungle to practice a Yogic way of life and be closer to the sacred plants. Eventually they have decided to share this space and the practices they have cultivated with others. Currently she is trained in 200 hr YA Kaula Tantra Yoga, 100 hr YA Kaula Tantra Yoga, Reiki Master, Thai Massage, Angel Channelling, Karuna Ki Reiki, is a Women Circle Facilitator and Cacao Ceremony Leader. Currently she is in the process of completing an MA in Clinical Neuropsychology and Neuroeducation

Taita Edgar Garreta has grown up in a world immersed in the sacred medicine of Yage, the jungle and its medicinal plants. He is originally from the Inga community of Cundagua which is situated outside of Mocoa and grew up there with his family. From the age of 7, he drank his first cup of Yage with his grandfather who was also a Taita. If you ask him about this, he will often fondly recall stories of these cherished times drinking in the forest with his grandfather and learning from him. When he grew up he left the community for several years. During that time he served as an assistant (or secretary as it is often referred to here) to an his Uncle, elder Taita Luis. From there he also deepened his connection with the medicine and patients who he met in various parts of the country. Unfortunately Taita Luis became sick after some years and passed away which led Taita Edgar onto a new chapter. He had a family after that time and spent several years raising his son as a single father. This took priority at the time and meant that he had to stop travelling as much and serving the ancestral medicines. However, he never lost his personal connection with the medicine and with God. Eventually life led him back to being able to treat patients more frequently and work with healing. He now forms part of the Rumi Wasi project where he met Shani and Yeferson seven years ago and formed a lifelong friendship with them.

I was born in Cali Valle, I lived until I was 12 years old in Tulua Valle, I wanted to be a Salesian priest and I had a problem that took me away from the concept of God and religion that I knew so far, I walked a lot through many parts, I studied systems, languages, accounting, I had several businesses but I felt very empty. One day 14 years ago, October 11th, I was invited my first glass of Yagé, I refused but still the Great Spirit had other plans for me and I ended up taking it, that single glass changed my life, everything turned 180 degrees from that night. Six years went by as secretary of Taita Andres Cordoba, whom I accompanied in the ceremonies until I decided that my path was to share medicine, I asked Grandfather Yage and his answer was that it would take 4 more years to arrive at that point.... One day I organized a ceremony with several medicines in the Villa Maria de la Esperanza Reserve and there Taita Bernardo Chindoy arrived and gave me my first Yagé, my first Wayra and some feathers with the order to start sharing the Sacred Medicine. I have been serving medicine for 4 years now and I have had very good results, I have met many wonderful people along the way. I am a Chiropractor graduated from several institutes and the last study regarding medicines and therapies I did in the Pachayachaqchi Institute of the Ministry of Culture of Peru with whom I graduated as Hampiqamayuq, Andean Therapist, learning several phases or processes to attend in a more professional way to patients seeking Ancestral Medicine. At this moment I live in Campo Alegre, a small town in Andalucía Valle where I attend physical therapies, mental therapies, guided meditation, word circles and ceremonies of Yagé and other medicines, as well as chiropractic and detoxification of patients.

My name is Jefferson. I was born in Sopo, Cundinamarca, and spent my childhood growing up around the ancestral towns of Tunja, Tenjo, Tabio, Chía, Zipaquirá, and the lakes of Guatavita and Teusacá—home of the indigenous group of peoples known as the Muisca. The mountains always provided me with places to contemplate and meditate during childhood. My teenage years were in Bogota were I studied performance arts at Art School; learning about freedom of expression and the innate capacity we all have inside to be artists. At 22 years of age, I set out to travel through South America to deepen my spiritual experience and explore other cultures and knowledge. Following the route of the condor, I found the whole Universe in its diversity of colors and textures. From the Andean cultures filled with gods and spiritual richness to the strong Mapuches, the Pacific coast filled with different ancestral roots and practices, and the powerful Amazonian jungle and the practices of its inhabitants. These travels lasted four years and inspired in me a deep interest and yearning to continue on the medicine path. So, I embarked on a journey of discovery through Central America to learn more about the Nahuals, Mayas, Aztecs, Huichol, and Mexicas. A new cosmovision this time, following the path of the Quetzal and Hummingbird for several years. During that time, I reconnected with Yoga on a more profound level. It became part of my process of medicine. I studied and completed my first teacher training in Oaxaca while living long-term in the Hridaya Yoga Community. From there, I started my teaching practice in a plant medicine center, Sinchi Runa, which was one of the most precious moments of my life. There, I also assisted in the ceremonies and processes of healing. This center was based in the Guatemalan jungle and focused on rehabilitation from substances and other mental issues through plants and spiritual practices. It was a beautiful experience to be part of something that helped change the lives of so many people in an impactful way. When the time came to depart from that chapter of my life, I quickly met my life partner and wife. We both shared a vision for living a natural way of life connected to the medicine path, and from there, Rumi Wasi Kuna Pungo was born. Since this time I have undertaken another Yoga Teacher Training under the House of Om. I have also studied Biomagnetic therapy. My passion for music has also always followed me throughout life and at Rumi Wasi I offer sound healing sessions through sacred instruments; some of which are handmade by myself. I look forward to sharing this with you.

Taita Jesus is of Inga descent, born and raised in the Mocoa region of Putumayo. Through synchronicity, he met Shani (facilitator) through the healing of a serious snake bite, through saving her life they became lifelong friends. He learnt about plant medicine and therapies from a young age via his mum who was a respected healer. Later, at the age of 13 he started learning through his brothers who all work with the Master Plants and follow a shamanic Inga lineage. It is from ceremonies he also gained his love of music and learnt to play the guitar. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge that accompany him on this path and to guide you through the processes. He works with Yage but various other plants and treatments for a range of different conditions.
