Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 to Day 4:
On the morning of our first day, we will meet early at Bogotá Airport, Colombia, to travel to Ortega, a town in the department of Tolima, where we will spend 4 nights in the heart of the mountains. Upon arrival, our retreat will begin. We will fully engage in the process of preparing and brewing the drink, while consuming it to connect with the spirit of the plant. These four days will involve constant, delicate work to prepare the sacred remedy with love and healing intentions, respecting the principles that have kept this science alive for thousands of years. Taita Jamir Rada Flores upholds traditional practices, honouring ancient wisdom passed down through generations. We will offer our greatest commitment and responsibility to the teachings and wisdom of the plants. During this part of the journey, we will experience one ceremony with purging plants and two ceremonies with the sacred remedies. On the days we hold ceremonies, fasting will be encouraged if possible.
Day 5 to Day 8:
On Day 5, we will set off for Mocoa, the capital of the department of Putumayo. This is the origin place of many indigenous tribes who administer the sacred medicine of Yagé (Ayahuasca). We will spend 3 nights in this region, immersed in its wonderful nature and the magnificent gift of healing plants. Yagé is said to heal our soul, body, and spirit, with the potential to heal and transform humanity. We will be greeted by Sandra from Hostal Yaku, a traditional finca with shared rooms in wooden cabins, located 10 minutes from a beautiful waterfall where we can swim and relax. Two or three typical Colombian meals will be provided each day. Our first activity will be a plant and salt bath, followed by a dip in the local waterfall. On day 6 and 7, we will participate in two daytime ceremonies with an elder shaman with over 40 years of experience and with a guide fro the Inga tradition. The next day, we embark on the most adventurous part of our retreat.
Day 8/9 to Day 12:
We will travel further south by bus and boat to the home of Taita Richard, an elder from the Indigenous Inga community in Puerto Asís. Here, we will participate in unique ceremonies rooted in their cultural and linguistic traditions, passed down from their ancestors. The Inga language is a dialect of Quechua, the language of the Inca Empire. We will have 2 day ceremonies with Taita Richard before departing back to our daily lives on day 12.
