About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

Purification & Sacred Dignity is a deeply held ceremonial retreat devoted to remembrance, cleansing, and reconnection with our essential nature. Guided by María Valdivia—respected elder, medicine carrier, and spiritual leader—this gathering offers a rare opportunity to sit in ancestral ceremony rooted in humility, lineage, and devotion to Mother Earth.

Over five days, we will walk together through a prayerful process of purification of the body, heart, and spirit. The retreat is centered around Temazcal (traditional sweat lodge) as a sacred womb of transformation, supported by earth medicines, nature-based rituals, and intentional integration spaces. Each ceremony is held with care, respect, and deep listening, honoring ancient ways while meeting each participant exactly where they are.

This retreat is an invitation to slow down, soften, and return to what is essential. Through repeated Temazcal ceremonies, plant medicine journeys, movement, rest, and prayer, participants are supported in releasing what no longer serves, reconnecting with their inner dignity, and remembering their place within the greater web of life.

María’s presence brings the depth of decades of lived experience, prayer, and service. As a carrier of master medicines and a long-standing member of the Fuego Sagrado de Itzachilatlan, she holds a lineage that emphasizes love, respect, responsibility, and sacred relationship with the Earth. This gathering is uniquely focused on sweat lodge prayer and purification, making it especially powerful for those seeking grounding, clarity, emotional healing, and spiritual renewal.

Participants will be held in a safe, intentional, and respectful container, supported by nourishing meals, integration time, and the guidance of a team devoted to integrity and care. This is not a performance or a “quick fix,” but a sincere ceremonial path—one that invites humility, courage, and openness.
This retreat is for those who feel the call to remember their sacred dignity, cleanse their inner and outer worlds, and sit with elder medicine in a way that honors tradition, community, and the living Earth.
