Working with Shuy in the jungle of Tulum was the most profound and transformative experience of my life.
I arrived mentally and spiritually broken, carrying years of trauma I didn’t fully understand at the time. Alcohol, unhealthy cravings, strained relationships, and an underlying anger and short temper that seemed to come from nowhere had quietly become part of my daily life. Years spent in military special operations and war left marks I had never fully faced. I knew I was being called to this work, even though I was scared, anxious, and unsure of what to expect.
From the very beginning, Shuy and his team created an environment of complete safety, trust, and respect. Every step of the cleansing and ceremonies was guided with deep care, intention, and professionalism. Because of that, I was finally able to let go and trust the process.
The experience itself is impossible to fully put into words. What I can say is that it brought me an inner peace I have never known. My anxiety is gone. My relationship with alcohol and sugar has fundamentally changed, without effort or struggle. The constant underlying anger and short temper I carried for years has dissolved. My mind feels clear, calm, and steady.
Most importantly, the way I listen and respond to others is different now. I am present. I am patient. I can hear people without reacting, without tension, without needing control. Life feels slower, clearer, and more intentional.
This work reconnected me with nature, with myself, and with a sense of serenity I didn’t believe was possible anymore. The medicine is real, and its power goes far beyond words.
