About this Retreat
Mitsuwo Leon was born in the mystical land of Nazca, Peru, close to the ancient Nazca Lines that have puzzled and inspired many for generations. Growing up surrounded by the mysteries of his homeland, Mitsuwo developed a deep connection to nature from a young age. His fascination with plant medicine blossomed early, and as a child, he felt a profound calling to explore the healing powers of the plants around him.
For more than a decade, Mitsuwo has devoted his life to the practice of traditional medicine, specializing in the sacred cactus *Wachuma*—also known as San Pedro. Revered in Andean spirituality, *Wachuma* is known for its ability to open pathways of healing, transformation, and spiritual insight. The spirit of *Wachuma* is often linked to the feline, a symbol of power, wisdom, and stealth, qualities Mitsuwo feels deeply aligned with. He believes that the feline spirit resides within him, guiding him on his journey of healing and teaching.
In addition to his mastery of plant medicine, Mitsuwo is also a gifted singer. His beautiful, soul-stirring voice plays a central role in his ceremonies, where his songs are used as a powerful tool for healing. His music, often performed during sacred ceremonies, has the ability to transport participants into a deeper state of reflection and connection with the plant spirit, intensifying the healing experience.
Driven by a desire to offer a permanent space for those seeking healing and transformation, Mitsuwo moved to the tranquil area of Maska, where he founded his retreat center, *Michi Hampi*. The name *Michi Hampi* comes from the Quechua language, with "Michi" meaning "feline" and "Hampi" meaning "medicine." The name reflects Mitsuwo's personal connection to the feline spirit within him and his deep understanding of *Wachuma*, the sacred plant that holds the essence of the feline energy. At *Michi Hampi*, Mitsuwo offers a safe, sacred space for individuals to embark on their own healing journeys through plant medicine, with a focus on spiritual growth, emotional healing, and self-discovery.
Mitsuwo's retreat center has become a place of transformation for many, where participants are welcomed into a supportive environment to explore the power of *Wachuma* under his careful guidance. His love for teaching, combined with his deep respect for the sacred traditions of his ancestors, allows him to pass on his knowledge to others, helping them reconnect with the wisdom of the earth and the spirits that reside within it.
Through his work at *Michi Hampi*, Mitsuwo Leon continues to honor his heritage and his personal calling to heal and teach, guided always by the wisdom of the feline and the sacred plant *Wachuma*. His path is one of dedication to ancient traditions, yet also one that embraces the ever-evolving journey of self-discovery and healing for all who come to his retreat.
Veronika León experienced a profound transformation when she first encountered *Ayahuasca*, the sacred plant medicine of the Amazon. This pivotal moment marked a turning point in her life, as the powerful plant opened a doorway within her, awakening the spirit of a medicine woman. It was during this initial experience, alongside Mitsuwo, that she began to understand her true calling. Her gift for singing, which had always been a part of her life, took on new meaning. Through her voice, Veronika found a deep connection to the healing power of the plants and the spiritual realms, and it became a central part of her medicine work.
As she continued to work closely with Mitsuwo, Veronika’s role as a healer blossomed. Her voice, pure and filled with emotion, became a channel for the sacred energies during ceremonies. Her songs, which resonate with the essence of the plants, guide participants through their own healing journeys, allowing them to connect with their inner selves and the spiritual world. Her music carries a nurturing, maternal energy, soothing those who seek healing and helping them feel safe in the transformative space of the ceremony.
Driven by a deep passion for helping others, Veronika stepped fully into her role as a medicine woman, working alongside Mitsuwo in guiding ceremonies, especially with *Wachuma* and *Ayahuasca*. She brings a unique, feminine energy to their work, providing a balance that nurtures both the spiritual and emotional aspects of healing. Veronika’s presence in ceremonies is powerful yet gentle, and she has become an integral part of the healing process for many who come to their retreats.
In recent years, Veronika’s work has expanded beyond the traditional plant medicine ceremonies. Embracing her maternal instincts, she has developed a deep focus on helping women connect with their own sense of motherhood—whether as actual mothers or in a broader, symbolic sense. Through her teaching, Veronika embodies the "maternal hearth," guiding women on how to nurture themselves and others, how to embrace their feminine power, and how to create a space of love and support in their lives.
Veronika León's journey is one of personal transformation and dedication to healing. Her unique blend of soulful singing, compassionate teaching, and deep wisdom has made her a respected medicine woman. Together with Mitsuwo, she co-leads their retreat center, *Michi Hampi*, where they offer healing ceremonies and spiritual guidance for all those seeking a deeper connection to themselves and the earth.
Through her work, Veronika continues to inspire and uplift those around her, teaching not only the ways of plant medicine but also the profound lessons of motherhood, nurturing, and unconditional love. Whether through her songs in ceremony or her teachings about the maternal spirit, Veronika León remains dedicated to helping others heal and grow into their full potential. Woman and an inspiration.
Actualmente me dedico a reparar y crear.
