Private Ayahuasca night in Costa Rica + Kambo option

I had the honor of sitting with Mar during a private Ayahuasca retreat in Costa Rica for my 30th birthday. What stood out most was the intimacy of the experience. There were no crowds, no distractions (other than the sounds of the jungle, haha) just deep, focused presence.

During ceremony, I felt truly comforted, loved, and nurtured. Her words carried exactly what I needed: motivation when I felt lost, education when I was unsure, and unwavering support as I moved through the unknown.

She held the space with grace and groundedness. Her presence was calm, yet deeply powerful and I felt safe to go wherever the medicine needed to take me.

I had a ceremony with Mar in mid-June during a visit to Costa Rica. It was a last-minute decision (I inquired on Monday and had the ceremony on Wednesday), and I'm so glad that Mar was available. She offered to meet with me to talk about everything in person, which made me more confident in my decision to do Ayahuasca in general and to do it with her. The environment is very welcoming; the grounds in the jungle are so lush and beautiful, and really adds to one’s experience of Ayahuasca, especially for doing it for the first time. Mar was quite open in sharing her life and ayahuasca experience with me; she has great energy, and I adore Mar's cat, Cacao (who is very sweet).
While one’s experience with visions varies, I felt well taken care of through the entire night. Mar is very patient, explains everything, and goes through the entire process with you (she takes the ayahuasca too), but is very attentive to you. She watched over me and checked in frequently for the entire time.
Also, the morning after, Mar continues to take care of you; she made me a very good fruit bowl, and we had an honest debrief about the evening and my experience so far.

Mar knows what she’s doing; I had trouble purging the second time, and she did so many things to make it happen (it finally did lol). I decided not to take the second offering of the ayahuasca medicine (physically, I felt I couldn’t take it), so that did impact what visions I did or didn’t see, but I did take the rapé (tobacco powder) and the first ayahuasca medicine. The rapé does feel like a burning sensation in your brain, but it’s not bad the second time, and the medicine doesn’t taste as bad as one may assume, but it’s not tasty at all. Lol.
I don’t have a clinical diagnosis of anxiety, but my therapist has confirmed that I can get extremely anxious, and I will say that since then, I have felt a bit calmer/settled overall. I have heard random messages/voices here, but I’m still practicing following what I’m hearing.
This was a last-minute decision, and I don’t regret it at all. I’m excited that I’ve opened myself to this process, and I am considering arranging a planned trip to Peru to do it again (Mar shared the contact for a practitioner that she has studied/learned from). I think for anyone who is considering trying it and dipping their toes in the process, go with Mar; you won’t regret it.

The experience was terrific from start to finish. Our host was very knowledgeable in plant medicine which helped to make me feel comfortable.
