Permaculture retreat Moulin Scalagrand

For five days, your host Frederique, opens her permaculture project to anyone who wants to connect with nature and experience an alternative way of life. Alongside enjoying the mill’s serene surroundings, relaxing in the garden, swimming in the natural pond and meditating, you’re warmly invited to join in the activities that keep this place thriving. From Monday to Friday, Frederique will be available all day to guide you and answer your questions on a range of topics: from permaculture and circular farming to garden mandalas, watering, composting, mulching, harvesting, seeding, pruning, and natural fertilizers. Whether you’re curious about beneficial bacteria and fungi or have practical questions, Frederique will be there to help. Each morning after breakfast there will also be time for a workshop, which can be scheduled the evening before depending on the interest of the group.

Workshops include:

Vegan cheese and yogurt making

Fermenting vegetables and making sourdough bread

Wild foraging and harvesting in the food forest

Soap, shampoo and cream making

Essential oil and oil infusion making


Good to know: This retreat is designed to give you the opportunity to participate in our daily life at the mill, so it is not a traditional experience. On arrival you will be given fresh linen to make your bed and you will be expected to help prepare and clear up the kitchen before and after meals.
