Transformative Connection - a 5 day Private Couples' Retreat on sacred land near Monsanto, Portugal
This private retreat is devoted to couples who wish to deepen and renew their connection in a lasting way — whether you are currently facing great difficulties or challenging issues, moving through a time of transition, or simply seeking ways to deepen your connection and find greater intimacy .

Our work centers on Embodied Relational Presence: the capacity to meet one another with attunement, authenticity, and depth in each moment of relating. Grounded in many years of developmental and relational practice, we have cultivated a finely tuned, sequential approach that integrates movement, shared inquiry, and deep listening.

Rather than teaching techniques to apply later, we engage in exploring what is alive between you in real time. Through practices inspired by Movement of Being, Circling, and developmental inquiry, you learn to sense, speak, and respond from lived experience. This strengthens your ability to truly “get each other’s world,” even in moments of tension.

As this capacity grows, your relationship can become a living crucible for mutual development — a holding environment where both partners are supported and gently challenged to grow beyond habitual patterns into greater presence and maturity. Intimacy deepens not by avoiding difficulty, but by meeting it consciously.

Because meaningful growth often touches vulnerable or charged territory, we bring the experience, qualifications, and steadiness necessary to work skillfully with significant relational challenges. Whether facing conflict, emotional distance, or pivotal life questions, the retreat offers both depth and grounded support.

All of this unfolds in close relationship with the quiet wildness of our land at the foot of Portugal’s mountain of Monsanto. Surrounded by ancient cork oaks and granite formations, the natural environment becomes part of the holding field — offering spaciousness, grounding, and a felt sense of interconnectedness.

Each retreat is highly personalized and attuned to what is alive in your partnership. Together, we explore how your relationship can become not only a source of intimacy and joy, but a regenerative force for truth, growth, and aliveness in your shared life.

Schedule

Each day starts with an early morning (usually 8 o clock) guided movement meditation (Movement of Being, Chi Gung) - on the land if the weather allows.
Afterwards, we prepare and eat a lush breakfast together.
Towards the end of breakfast, we check in with each other about how you are doing and how the rest of the day will unfold.
Then there is a break of about two hours - often used for walking the ancient footpaths around the mountain of Monsanto - or taking a rest in a hammock under the cork oaks.
After that, we meet for a session which may either be dedicated to diving into one of our Relational Presence practices, or we might simply make space for a theme or issue that is alive for you - which could take the form of a more formal couples' therapy session if that's what's needed.
We often also meet with you at a nearby natural sanctuary - a sacred setting for the deeper inner work.
Then there is space for private time for you to spend as you wish, sometimes with an (optional) personal inquiry question to guide you.
After that, we take our time to cook and eat a delicious vegetarian meal together.
In the late afternoon/early evening we sometimes come together for an evening program, or we suggest a relational presence practice to explore together - privately or with our guidance.
Or else, we watch the sunset together or sit by the fire in the evening, bringing Presence to whatever is most alive for you.
